I've never asked him mate, im the same as him though, get shown something once, and i wont have to ask how to do it again if you get me?

He's 60 next year, so he's had a fair bit of experience Over the years i guess he's just watched other people and learnt how to do things?

Very nice! Wish I had the talent to do all of this. Money you would save on labour!

Bet it is still all costing a bit though!

Coming along VERY well, love the round window and the view, would stand looking out that all the time if i lived there.
Currently doing my house up, gotta strip wallpaper, carpets and pull old lathe and plaster ceiling down in lounge and dining room by next weds for father in law to plaster, its amazing how much plasterers can charge (he isnt! ).

what you doing with that fireplace? you gonna just have it flush, hole in the wall type? are you actually gonna use it as a fire? i am thinking of going for the basic hole in the wall look in our dining room..

We're actually going to use it as a fire mate, some sort of law in the UK prevented us having a fire when it was the size it was before? It has to be a certain size. Still shopping about for a fireplace though.

And yes.... it is mental what plasterers can charge!! Took a week alltogether to strip all the rooms of wallpaper, and about 2 hours to get rid of all the carpets! Radio 1 helped us through haha.

Hole in the wall look is cool, we had one in our old house, and just had a "Red" bulb behind, which gave off the effect it was glowing etc
