I have seen a few test drives of the monaro and love it-- what are the different model options-- anyone know. Looking on the net quickly it looks like there are a couple of different editions.

I am still thinking of another s but......... I had a member of my family work for bmw so I got a brand new 19k car for 14k- He doesnt work for mini now and I dont really want to pay that sort of money... TBH I think the mini is overpriced as new- and they are expensive second hand... which I suppose is a good thing for me.

I have test drove the new one and tbh I dont like it as much as mine... I wish it still had a supercharger and it feels a bit softer than the old one... I would still love another though.

Another Monaro.

I'm sure running costs will be daft though.

Just been reading up on the monaro and tbh the running costs seem like they are a bit out of my league- definately going to test one though.

I thought you wanted a warranty? RS Focus' will have expired and probably a few others that have been mentioned.

You can still buy second hand through dealers/garage and purchase a guarantee.

If you get the 197 with the optional recaro seats then it spices up the interior a bit

Cool. If I was after a brand new hot hatch then it'd be my choice! New Mini would be also an option if they weren't so damn expensive by the time you've got a few worthwhile options on.

Some wide range of cars going on

Imo, integra dc5 will suit your needs to a T, right sort of price, more fun and will feel alot quicker than the mini, probably good residuals, lovely looking, should be very reliable etc etc.

Those saying monaro's

Tbh- I have pretty much written the monaro off -- Its going to be far too expensive in the long run.

I really love those integras - probably still my first choice if I can find a good one for the money I want to spend.

You can buy warantee's but most are'nt worth the paper they are written on. If you buy say an 02 reg car, fuck all will be covered as they will just say its wear and tear. I got a couple of months with my S3, read through it and barely anything was covered.

Bit of progress....

Booked a test drive in the clio r27 f1. My local dealership is selling their demo machine for £15,995 - same price as normal clio 197.

He has just sent me a picture over and it looks exactly like this one in black................

There are only 500 made which should mean the residuals are high and even better it is not avaliable for two months so I wouldnt have to pay for it for a while so I will have time to sell my car privately.

Comes with recaro interior and pretty much fully specced, 2 years left on the manufactorers guarantee ...

What do people reckon... seems like a damn good deal to me.

yeah- i like that blue as well - aragonis or something like that...... this black one does look really nice though. I did vow never to have a black car again due to it being impossible to keep clean for more than one journey but I might make an exeption cos I really like this car.
