i said yesterday the refereeing was been shit this week, glad to see it was as bad today, never a penalty in a million years. i thought chelsea had been warned about approaching the referee, everytime something doesnt go there way, or a chelsea player dives, 5 or 6 of them run to the ref trying to get what they want, should start banning them. i have a very simple idea.
after every match, the FA review the action, anybody caught diving, gets a 10k fine and a 2 match ban.
everybody who goes up to the ref without being called over, 10k fine, 2 match ban.
fa would only need to do it for a few players and nobody would dive and harass ref again

agreed Russ.
Pennant went upto the ref once after a foul was given against him and he got booked right away. Yet Mikel, Terry and Drogba (worst out of the whole 11IMO) did it constantly yet got nothing against them.

OMFG! Well as you know I was at a wedding yesterday and missed the whole match, apart from sneaky texts updates from my friends who were there and nipping out to the bar in the hotel that was showing the match (I think I should get an award for the worst wedding guest!). So I just really got to properly see MOTD when we got home and a few clips on SSN.
Anyway... just from watching those little bits you could just tell Liverpool deserved to win! In no way, shape or form should that penalty have been awarded to chelsea WTF?! I felt like reaching through the tv and shaking the ref and asking him "wtf are you blind, what are you doing man? Call yourself a ref, people that are blind in one eye can see that wasn't deserved!!" And OMG what the hell was that weird celebratory goal thing from Lampard all about?! Seems like what was a good game was ruined by bad refereeing decisions, but then I didn't see the whole game. But IMO Chelsea didn't deserve to get a point from that game they were just lucky the refereeing was a shambles yesterday.

Jill, your conclusion on the game (even though you didnt see it) would be correct.
A good game which liverpool deserved to win was ruined by one man and that was the ref.
he was alowing chelsea players to surround him to question any decision but as soon as pennant done it once he was booked straight away.
Essien got 2 bookings but ref never wrote the second one down and has since said he never booked him second time yet he produced the yellow 
Great finish by Torres though, and lampards celebration noooob head!
Malouda dragged his studs down the back off gerrards achilies when he was through on goal (red card? got to be yellow? nope nothing...) Mikel kicked out at gerrard (yellow card possibe red? nothing...)
so all in all, the ref got the limelight in the first big game of the season... and theres me thinking it was players and teams that were what makes the premier league

I hate that Mikel, such a dirty little twat. He swung out at Riise aswell at one stage, aswell as kicking out at Gerrard.
And when are the FA going to do something about players surrounding the ref? I thought they dealt with it last season, but nothing has changed. Essien even had his hands all over the ref (ooo errr) at one stage but nothing (other than two yellows  )
