as the car has taken a little longer to get, i've decided to get some goodies for it when it returns

the first of which is an original SR spoiler t get it back to standard, as at the mo it has a diesel boot on - eurgh

Pic of spoiler below - needs a respray but i reckon it'll only cost like 20 quid from a bodyshop, will simply tigerseal it on

got the carback after a bit of a wait at Vsport but was worth it. Car seems a little boggy but i guess it needs to be run in.

Dave and everyone at Vsport were top notch and nice guys Cheers!

Car made 140.5 on the dyno so im hoping when run in will make mid 150's,then i'll get some verniers so the cams actually make a proper difference.

So overall, a very light wallet and pretty satisfied

yes he did. when its fully run in it should loosen up and make 150 bhp easily as we find that freshly built engines even after being run in on the dyno tend to release a further 5-15% of their power after another 250-500 miles of 'normal' use.

the bogging down you mentioned dan is probably down to cam timing, some verniers and a few hours setting up the cams will sort that, theres only so much you can do with the crappy timing marks on the c20 xe, especially with standard pulleys.

tried to turn car on last night - for some reason its buggering up.
I dont know whether there's an air leak, the spark plugs are soggy or what but its really bad.
Taking it to a diagnostics garage tomorrow to see what they think - time to spend more money

Is it a standard rebuild then? When does it need cam timing/verniers if so?

As for this:

...surely you have some sort of warranty offered from Vsport?

*edit* That engine sounds like its dropped a valve to me(very hard to tell from a phone video though)
