this guy mustve done something to provoke it, not saying he deserved what he got, but cant see them randomly picking him, then going to such extremes for absolutely no reason

I would get pretty hacked off if some idiot was sitting in the middle of a road that allows overtaking perfectly legally...

regardless though, you wouldn't attack the driver infront would you?
At the end of the day it is the duress of the overtaking driver to assess the conditions before overtaking. Conditions mean time, visibility, weather, road conditions and probably most importantly the abilities/driving of the car in front.
If anyone would result in an unsafe overtaking manoeuvre then overtaking should be avoided.
Regardless of wether the guy was 'holding them up' by driving in the centre of the road, you don't react in the way that has appened, using your horn or flashing your lights is mroe than adequate!

i have in no way said that it was a valid reaction, just that I would get annoyed by an idiot 'not letting me past'
It is not against the law to overtake. I'm not sure on the law regarding driving in the middle of the road, blocking passing cars on purpose though.

Also by driving in the middle of the road was he inferring straddling the central lines, or driving on his own side but close to the lines. If it's the latter then wheres the problem?
