how much have they been sold for?
Scoobynet went for 250k apprentley
then i dont blame them id sell a forum straight away if it was only worth 10k!!
lol idiots
Obviously the latest 'craze' is to buy internet forums for stupidly large sums of money.
Let's see them get their £250k back.
oh and the reason I say the above, is because although popular forum's get a lot of hits... they're user base is fairly consistent... so it's generally the same say 10,000 people viewing it constantly..making 1,000,000 hits... rather than say 1,000,000 different people viewing it!
Pistonhead's is a good buy though. That site is good, just for the classifieds and news.

forums will become a thing of the past soon anyway, less and less people are using them due to too many people setting up forums based on the same goddam thing

I want to know what this "future software" is
It's the people that make a forum IMO and i'm curious how software will change it? It'll still be the same banter?

There's all the local VAG car clubs which have forums too, which anyone can join.
Just look through people's sigs on Edition38, you'll see...

edition38 is vw is it not?
clubgti is vw is it not?
vwvortex is vw is it not?
oxfordedition is vw is it not?
regardless of wether people from all vag makes visit the sites, they were meant to be setup for individual vag makes.
vagweb was meant to bring all vag make owners together, wether it has achieved this or not is a different matter, but the idea at the time, was fairly original

No Steve, ALL of them offer more than just VW, and always have.
VWVortex has sections for marques which even you don't.

for god sake robin its called VWvortex that to me suggests its primarily aimed at vw's theyve probably added areas as lots of other vag owners joined as they had nowhere else to go at the time, besides that its based in america, so full of fat americans with spinners on there golfs
ALL of them have VW or Dub in the titles or descrptions
NONE are soley aimed at providing information to ALL vag makes
look at the vagweb brochure section, thats the kind of info im talking about trying to cater for all different owners makes
