I got 480 miles this week to £50 in a 1.6 Pug. I was quite happy with that. Still pisses me off the price of fuel though

To be honest i'f i was driving a 1.0 12v i'd be hoping for more miles than 469 .

My old 1993 Corsa B 1.4 8v (C14NZ) managed 442 miles before the light came on.

My 2004 Corsa C 1.7 CDTI has managed 532 miles before the light has come on, and this is with using the air con.

Even if you exclude the diesel, my old petrol corsa still only gets 25 to a tank short of a 12V. And that engine is from the 80's .

God, live a little, I used to run my Omega for days on end on the light I ran out at the top of the hill and rolled to the petrol station further down one time (On Aigburth Road for those who know!)

yeh mate, isnt yours remapped though? btw that mileage is correct to 5miles iv gone down to it many times

[Edited on 02-02-2008 by Steve]

This was before being remapped, it's actually just the same after the remap unless i give it some when it's not as good.

I get about 300-330ish a week out of a full tank. But that doesn't happen very often and I don't want to let my fuel tank get to the red light as I don't know what crap is at the bottom of the tank.

I almost always drive 5 miles at a time (work and back).

Don't really drive it fast on these journeys as there is either traffic or i'm still asleep.

gets 500 no problem, only filling up once a month if that.

When I went to cornwall last summer, I got to the high 500's

Do you do that little trick with the air release in the tank?

There is a little switch thing, if you push on that with the fuel nozzle, it lets the air out of the tank and you can get another £10 if you're cocky

I only manage another £2-3 venting, am I doing something wrong? TBH I dont really care. The economy matches my 1.2 16v Corsa, but its much more comfy, climate, ac on all the time, more refined, 2x as more bhp, 5 or 6 times more torque.

Yes I could have stuck with the dCi Clio, but it was rattly, used to judder on idle, was noisey doing 80 on the motorway (3k rpm in a diesel!!!), just wasnt for me

You just need to be very, very brave - and keep it venting while you're topping up.

I've only managed to cover myself in diesel once

I've not filled up for almost a month, so quite possibly be kicking around 110 here too now, I try not to take notice when driving past.

Last time I filled up, I wasn't quite empty, and remember it being £50 - but I bought a bottle of wine too at the shop, and I can't remember what that cost, so pretty useless tbh

How the hell did you do that Fonz? I can't manage that. Well, only ever done about 350 miles, with it verging on the red. Can't imagine I'd get another 100 miles between that and red light though?!

I've had near that in my 1.6 corsa, driving very economically though, and ALL motorways miles, at about 3500 rev's just under 70mph
