Forgot i had this thread, so i'll post the same as what i posted in general chat

Well, the car FINALLY got its Mot cert today, whoop!

To celebrate, i thought i'd try and get a couple of decent pics.

Left to do?

Waiting for Mike @ Performance Trim to send my carbon sunroof panel out to me, so i can go outside in the rain

Got a new loom, ecu, afm & lambda to fit on sat as i'm not happy with the quality of the current one, seems like its been repaired a couple of times, fitting a newer one with a lambda can only help really.

Then?

Drive the bugger!

chuffed, soooooo close to driving it legally on the roads now

Got the new loom & ecu in eventually, of course the new loom would be different from the old one, it came from a different car / year.

But to use totally different coloured wires & extra plugs just isnt cool.

Had to rewire the plug that goes from the loom to the car, and that was fun.

Got a couple of extra plugs, extra earths & switched live wires, but get everything sussed, bar one green wire with a single pin female plug on the end, rev counter perhaps, but mine still works

So, thats in, clicked the ingition on, all the lights are on, whoop.

Turn the key again, bwarpotasico, fires up, idles so nicely & revs so much better

Runs perfect now, no engine management light on, spotty dog.

Queer thing though, i hadnt plugged the oxygen sensor in, it was running really well, without em light on. strange, should run even better when i plug that in (i'd left it at home, d'oh)

The loom is in nice & neat, got the ecu in nice, tidied a few other bits up too, left the airbox off though as my cda enclosed filter should be here next week, just got to make some bracketry up for that & we're flying.

Also took the dash apart again, removed the airbag light as it would be on all the time since i removed the airbag, quite tight to get in without unplugging speedo.

Didnt bother taxing it, as i'm away next week, got a wedding to pohotograph on sat, and probs spend sunday going through the photos, then away again the next week.

Save myself a months tax & do it in may i think, cant really use it much till then anyways.

So, still waiting on the roof panel, pretty unimpressed with the service, not replied to any of my emails, going to ring on tues & see whats happening, will be 7 days overdue then, might see if i can get a discount on some doorcards for the inconvienience as its stopping me from putting it on the road.

Once thats done, i'm ready.

Big thanks to Dave for his help today, without him, this project wouldnt be what it is!

So, i'm totally undigging the smooth front bumper now, so i'm ditching it & going for this...

Irmscher Front Airdam on facelift bumper.

I know its not great, but im not happy with the fit of the smooth one anymore, and its just going to get cracked to fuck as soon as i hit a bump / stone / child.

So wont be running the teeny tiny plate on the front, going to use proper sized plates (smaller lettering though)

Hope to pick it up from Lincoln next week when im working down that way

Just need to get it rubbed down & painted, it is tempting to smooth the swage line & plate recess, so it matches the rear bumper, but i might ditch that one too

Anyways, that is all.

Cheers mate, just got to pick it up & get it painted

Not sure what to do about the back though, as the rear bumper is smoothed, might just get a std facelift one slapped on & sell the pair of smoothed bumpers.

Picked the bumper up today, really happy with it, looks better in person, can't wait to get it painted & fitted.

Hope to get it painted next week some time if the painter isnt busy.
