makes no odds he got his deposit back, shitty but not much that can be done

for example i could put a deposit down on a car, and the guy crashed, he would be me my deposit back etc, nothing more could be done

"When you agree a purchase, if it is a cash transaction and the sale is made face to face then neither party, vendor of purchaser can legally back out without paying fair and reasonable compensation to the other party."

I'd be tempted to try and do a bit more digging and see if you can get something out of it. End of the day if you pulled out, they'd keep the deposit, so if they pulled out, you should be entitled to more than just your deposit back IMO.

I'd be proper pissed, cause as soon as I agreed a sale on my car I paid insurance when I got home, so can you not say you've done that.

I guess it's probably too late for that as you would have said it there and then otherwise.

The difficulty is proving that an agreement was made with no paperwork or actual evidence.

Also, it's not really worth the hassle of going to court over nothing.

Yeah, if he doesn't have a formal receipt with the vehicle reg on it's a hard one to fight really I suppose .
