Right i went on a mission today and got this bloody thing sprayed.

the wheather was surprisingly sunny and calm and i actually enjoyed myself for once doing car stuff.

Worked solid from 11 till 5

So thats how it stands at the moment,

there is a few little imperfection in the paint but i will be sanding them back and repraying over tomorow.... hopefully.

I am really pleased with the way it came out. we had trouble before when spraying it in a garage, i think there was too much dust.

Let me get this right you have just rattle canned the car with matt black paint?

Are your going to seal it afterwards with a matt laqure?

As soon as any dirty bird poo tree sap etc gets on that paint it will eat it. There was a lad before who did this and i told him he would regret it, an in the end he did......

Rattle can...you not seen the compressor in the pics. This was done with a proper spray gun mate.

The paint doesn't need a laquer so no were not doingit...thats the whole point of a matt colour...looks very cool and doesn't need laquer...

Were not rookie's mate, we know what were doing! If you all think its a rubbish finish then come round and see it for yourself, you'd be surprised!

we've sprayed cars before outside and they are still fine,it comes down to how you spray, how much you thin the pait out, and the quality of the paint.

Amen!!

I had matt black once. I had to put a matt lacquer on too. But mine was a black base coat then the lacquer.

Is yours matt 2k paint?

beardy knows what hes on about, he owns his own bodyshop in manchester

even if its a matt colour it needs a lacquer, you can buy lacquers for matt paints, it protects the paint without a shine

we used 2k build up filler primer an then the matt black on top.

The finish looks amazing so didn't think we'd need laquer.

Is there a special kind of laquer we should use or just a 'matt laquer'?

Thank for the advice, much aprechiated.

doesn't matter about the finish, it needs a lacquer to protect it
