Whats that, just under £100m a cup?
Like ud complain if that happend to your club.
TBH, i would, if we got given hundreds of millions of pounds to buy players and could still only manage to play the shite football you played under Mourinho i would complain yes
I have said many a time i would rather play how we do and finish second every season than win the league in a mourinho style
Bullshit, that really is.
You would rather finish second playing sexy samba arsenal football and win fuck all, rather than some good performances, some shit performances, the grinded out performances and you become champions at the end, ok then.

Ive said multiple times that I wouldnt want the same thing to happen to us. Im all for someone coming in and providing the funds for us to compete for the best players, whilst putting in place a sustainable financial plan, but I wouldnt want someone to come in and say here is £200m, buy everyone and anyone.
Yep, agreed here too

Laugh all you want, but I said it when Arbomavich joined you lot, said it when Mourinho was buying everyone under the sun and putting stupid bids in for players we wanted, and said it when the Yanks came in for us.

Abramovich didn't just spend shit loads on players though, the stuff you lot don't see such as helping our academy and youth set up, giving the whole team better training facilities, doing a lot more for charity, and giving recognition for all our old players than the previous ownership did not do, they didn't care about our old boys but the new owner has made sure they are rememberd, and he pretty much goes to every single game we play.

All well and good...still doesnt take away from the fact you spent £250m+ on players, mostly over priced, to buy the league twice. And all this whilst you make massive losses year on year.

Our financial situation gets better every year, we don't have any debt at least.
The players we got in helped the club win 6 titles in 3 years, the big spending of Carvalho and Drogba has paid off don't you think, most of the other players did there part as well.
Sheva was a shit signing at a stupid price, and obviously Milan new what they was doing so credit to them.
We didn't buy the league we won it, no body could match us in them two seasons.
And your a fine one to talk, may be you should come back when your team wants to try and win the league, you may not of spent as much as us but your manager has still spent a hell of a lot of money on players and not come close to a league title, which is what your fans want is it not, unless your just happy with fourth place every year.

Yeah, Im sorry, you are right, your financial situation does get better every year, what was it after the last details were released, oh yeah a very healthy £80m loss. And the only time your spending on players will be classed as 'paying off' is when they allow you to win things WHILST bringing in the money to be a self sustaining club. Until then they are just part of a rich mans play thing that couldnt exist if he decides to walk away in the next 5yrs atleast.

Yes, no one could match you on the pitch because no one could match the £100m+ you were spending in the summers to buy those players.

I agree, he has spent a lot of money - but he has done so within the clubs means. I.e. spending £30-40m a summer, which is the clubs profits, and adding the players to the squad he needs for the next season. He has to do so over a number of season, not all in one go like your lot did. Even so, Rafa's spending in 4yrs is less than that of Mourinho in his first few weeks at the club - and we have still won a hell of a lot in that time

The financial situation is fine according to Kenyon Greenberg and Buck, and there are plans in place if Abramovich did leave which he hasn't, why invest so much money then just fuck off, yes he's a billionaire but you wouldn't invest so much then just leave, the club has no debt because it's something like loans from Abramovich, can't quite remember all the ins and outs of the show I saw about a month ago.
You keep going on about the money we spent, Jose spent the money that was avaliable, Rafa would do the same, he always moans about the money he doesn't get like he did this January, if he got all the millions like Jose he would spend it all then you would get charge stupid prices for players like we did.
And if you remember ManUre spent over 70 million this summer on players for this season, which looks like they will win the title.

Chelsea reduce losses again and hit record turnover
Chelsea FC plc today (Thursday, February 21) announced record group turnover and reduced losses for a second successive season.
Chelsea FC also revealed a gross turnover of £223.3 million and independent research that indicated 90 million “core fans” globally.
Group results for the year end June 30, 2007, followed another year of success on the field with football, media and sponsorship revenues all showing large rises on the previous financial year.
The main figures were:
- group turnover up 25% to £190.5m from £152.8m (2005/6)
- sponsorship revenues up 89% to £32m from £16.9m (2005/6) due mainly to first year of adidas contract
- football activities up 27% to £165.3m from £130.4m (2005/6) due to success on the field, FA Cup and Carling Cup winners, second in FAPL and semi-finalists UCL
- cash spend reduced by 46% to £70.5m from £129.6m (2005/6)
- matchday revenue up 29% to £74.5m from £57.7m (2005/6) due to increased box office/corporate sales and cup runs
- media revenues up 13% to £59.6m from £52.6m (2005/6)
- losses reduced by 7% to £74.8m from £80.2m (2005/6)
- wages and salaries as percentage of turnover reduced by 5% to 71% from 76% (2005/6)
- EBITDA down to £2.3 million negative from £8 million negative (2005/6)
- gross turnover of £223.3 million (includes adidas and other merchandise and Chelsea Digital Media not consolidated in group results)
The research into fan base was conducted by TNS and was taken in 14 major global markets.
Also, following the end of the financial year Chelsea cleared its last remaining external debt by paying off the Eurobond under the terms of the bond arrangement.
Chelsea FC Chief Executive Peter Kenyon said: “These figures once again demonstrate that Chelsea is growing in strength as a business and as a club.
“I am delighted there has been such large increases in the major income streams. This has all been underpinned by our fundamental aim, success on the field, and this season we are looking to build on that again.
“Our long-term target of operating profit break even by 2009/10 remains ambitious but we are determined to meet it or get as close as we can.
“In the meantime we have made good on our pledges of last year, hitting all of our aims. We have expanded globally as a club, we have reduced our salaries as percentage of turnover, we have continued to be successful on the field, we have increased sponsorship revenue and we continue to invest in our academy and reduce our reliance on transfers.
“With the company also being external debt free and our ownership clearly demonstrating continuing commitment to the long term, I am very confident about the future on a football and business level.”

We played the same football as we have for over 10 years in not winning them two leagues which chelsea won, we rebuilt part of our team after some players moving on, and more young players coming in
The team matured and won the league last year, beating the 300million chelsea team to the league
You have won two titles
Chelsea played shit football, you cannot argue that they played shit football
Arsenal play stylish football, so do united, it paid off for both of those teams.
Liverpool's football also is not boring like Chelsea's was under Mourinho
The problem you have is you think chelsea earnt their success, YOU ARE WRONG

Yes, I have read the reports by you lot, I have also read the most recent deloittes reports, etc. etc. and you are not in a healthy situation. Losses of £80m+ a year is not good for any club - including one which has a sugar daddy.
And he isnt running it like a business, its a play thing to him. So if he walked away and sold the club, he'd make back a fairly large amount and the rest he'd write off as the cost of having his fun over the last 5yrs. Leaving Chelsea losing £80m a year and needing to plug the outgoings fairly quickly.

WTF are you going on about, what has it got to do with anything about what Rafa is saying. Yes he'd spend it if it was offered, why wouldnt he, its his job. The whole point though was that I (and the majority of Liverpool fans) WOULDNT want it being available to him.
And again, yes they spent £70m...but they havent spent anything they arent earning. They havent put themselves into anymore debt than they already were (which has nothing to do with spending, but more how the owners purchased the club).

ManUre spend shit loads on players as well, 70 odd million last season for example.
Boring football ?
Yeah the 04/05 season with one defeat in the league was very boring, all the 4-0 wins we got and the great attacking wing play from Robben Duff and J.Cole was crap, the goals from Lampard and Tiago was also shite.
The next season the same, crap crap crap.

Now you are just reading what you want to read.
I have already said in this thread I have no problem with our owners providing Rafa with MORE funds than he has now. So we can compete with the likes of you lot and United for the best players in the world. BUT I dont want him being given a blank cheque book such as yourselves and told to go out and buy the title.

Our losses are being reduced, and they will continue to do that from season to season.
They want to break even by 2009/2010, weather or not that will happen who know's, and we are totally debt free which a lot of clubs would want.

No msatter how much Chelski go and spend, they wont EVER go unbeaten an entire league season... we did it ona shoe string
And im sure most fans would be happier slogging it to 4th each seaosn rather then spending their way to 2nd place and a league cup
We've had millions of pounds available each seaosn for years now but wenger simply doesnt want to spend it, 99.9% of arsenal fans are happy with that

Not really
CHeck the Premiership history books, arsenal are still plenty ahead of chelsea in terms of trophies won and we've not (net) spent a 10th of what chelsea have to achieve relatively little
