Well I went to look at the iPhone and had a play and I thought about getting it to use on my existing contract then I realised that I have absolutely no data allowance and as the iPhone relies heavily on downloading data (stocks, weather, maps etc), it would cost me a fortune.

The point is, youve lived without an Iphone in you life untill now, therefore there is no difference in continuing to not have this facitily. I also work for an investment bank and dont need my phone to tell me the current market climate as its fed to me through communications within work all day long

I can live without it, it's just a nice feature
Who do you work for out of interest?

Surely getting the data add on would cure this problem? £7.50 for unlimited isn't it?

Not until the 3G version comes out as only O2 and Orange have EDGE setup in the UK at the moment.

But when you look on the website, it says subject to a 18 month contract. I don't want one.
