no updates really. buying 1.6 engine soon then strp and rebuild. unfortunately i spent the money for rods and pistons on a holiday. decompression plate ftw. was a good holiday tho.

decompression plate will be fine as long as your not a cock with a bleed valve

im getting my x16 engine tonight to rebuild it.
getting the pistons machined slightly to lower compression.
not going for a de comp plate as want a bit of fun

I spoke to a company about taking a skim off the crown but he wasnt keen. How much you taking off?

Stripped the 1.4 engine today. Then it fell off the wooden box onto the floor. Just got to get the timing belt off and take the head off as thats all Im keeping.

unsure as of yet mate. got a spare block here that has thrown a rod so have 3 spare pistons. going to cut one in half and see how much i can safely get away with.
my local engine place is more than happy to do it mate and said it will be fine, wont be taking loads off just enough to lower the compression enough.

How hard can it be to find a 1.6 engine or block for under 200. They all seem very overpriced

think iv got one now. Just the block but its been re-furbed with arps and other goodies. Just need to make sure I get my bonus from work

Well I pained the rocker cover white so I guess it should be around 246.9765367 bhp. May have to put some filler in the airbox to get 250 plus.
