UPDATE
Had the 18th of July set for about 2-3 weeks, had a phone call this morning saying it wouldnt be done due to the top of the chain unable to complete in time.
Later on this afternoon i recieved a phone call from the solicitors, the people that we're buying off are moving out into rented/other accomodation, which means it will be tight although if we can recieve our mortgage by Friday morning we're in.
All the stresses and strains!!!
But we SHOULD be in by Friday if all goes well

The house had a subsidence claim in 1990, and no insurance company wants to now insure us!!!!

Not in the survey but in the mining search from the solicitors.
We didnt think it'd be that much of a problem to be honest, untill now when we needed insurance to be completed by Thursday.. Cheapest quote i got was £800....
Until i rang up the seller, gone who she is with and got it for £24.22, and they dont have a problem with the subsidence, just have a £1000 excess if their is movement due to subsidence.

Rightio, so we got the keys late afternoon Friday. We didnt really do much as we weren't paticulary prepared for what we needed. So we had a look around and gave it all a clean etc.
Unfortunatly places have got a bit grubby to neglect so i can see, mountains of dust in the skirting boards, and paint on all of the wood, along with old plug sockets.
So it meant i had to spend a good couple of hours scrubbing! Managed to get most of the paint off the skirting boards in the living room, although there's still some stubborn parts which hopefully i'll be able to get rid off tomorrow, as i'll be spending the day up there. Ideally I want to get the living/dining room finished by Friday, as then we can concentrate on getting the other smaller rooms finished, we should then be in with everything the weekend after. If not this weekend!!
Today we managed to paint off the coving or whatever it is under the ceiling and managed to also completely repaint the ceiling, also managed to fill some holes where previous nails have been although they just need finishing off before we start to paint.
Here's some pictures of how it looked on Friday afternoon.. arent the best although gives you the idea of how it looks...
Enjoy!
Hallway
Living/Dining Room
Kitchen
(Went and got some supplied from costco)
Conservatory
Bathroom
Bedroom 1
Bedroom 2
(Not the best picture, silly angle with the camera i guess, the rooms a good double, Suppose a picture from the door would have been more useful hehe)
Bedroom 3
(Again the rooms bigger then it seems)
So we dont have that much to do, mainly just making it look nice and putting our own stamp on it which hopefully won't take to long.

Everyone i know that's seen them has said that so far.. I like beans
Me and Gaz went to look at a brand new build the same layout as that house. We thought it was quite big, although our house now is bigger...
I'd like a new build for the fact it's only you thats lived their and everything is nice and smart, without holes in the walls etc...
I personally can't justify new builds sizes to old builds, expensive to!!
Looks nice though!
