Shame it's damaged but at least you got her back. Has it been dropped you reckon or just dumped?

That's great news that you got it back

It looks like it's been ridden and someone has fallen off it. Were did you find it? Was it just at the side of the road?

It looks like it's been dropped and skidded for a bit, was just dumped in a bush in a field

So looks like it was a completely and utter waste of fucking time which is going to cost me time and money and a claim

Would have cost time/money/claim anyway but at least you have the material possession back. Gives you some leeway with the insurance doesn't it?

I suppose so yeah...good point.

I've no idea, a guy on another forum has frightened me a bit saying if I've found it they won't pay it, but I'm still making a claim against Theft so surely I'm covered

No idea? My policy doens't say a thing about vandalism. It's hard trying to make sense of it really, it's written so complex

Ask them then, if they don't pay out over theft, see if you can get it under vandalism. Worth a try!

Insurance are mugs, I just don't want them to say we won't cover you, yet still put it down that I've had it stolen and still affect my premium, I can just see them doing something cuntish like that

I hate to tell you but dents in the frame will usually result in it being wrote off. Most cannot be repaired and if there is a few it will be classed as serious structural damage. Just hope the person who fell off is in a bad way. When my old NSR250 was stolen. The police found it and I went to recover it. The police guy showed me the 20 metre skid mark, the dents in the brick work and scrapes on the lampost. There was also a bit of blood on the floor. Oh how I laughed . Bike was smashed to bits but managed to get it back up and running for relatively cheap. No damage to the frame though. Good luck

maybe you should of just torched it in the field and then claimed on the insurance for 'fire / theft'.

Sorry to hear about this. I used to be involved with bike racing a couple of years ago and generally they are alays more damaged than they appear. If you do get it repaired then be very carful with who does it.
I remember leavng for work one morning after staying at my girlfriends house to find her parents car at the top of the drive, i remembered it being at the bottom when i arrived there late the previous evening. Suspectng something was odd i checked the garage to find the door had been tampered with and the lock broken. Turnsout the thief had used a hand drill to tap the lock barrel out which opened the door and they cut the handbrake cables on the car so they could wheel the Fazer out down the street and probably into the van. Never got it back. There are some right theiving bastards out there and if they want it they will get it.

Fuck this man, I hope whoever stole the bike is DEAD. I'm not sorry for saying that, because it's caused a lot of headache and heartache for Graham, and I've had stuff stolen from me before. I hope they're lying face down in a wad of their own faceas that they shat out because they couldnt contol the thing.

Even if they never damaged it, and kept it for themselves to love and care for daily, I'd still wish death upon them the fuckers. Sorry for the rant... I just hate people like this. It's ended up costing Gra for nothing...

Seems logical though. What would be the need to get his month old bike (which was his pride and joy) stolen, smash it up, and then ditch it for an insurance job? Not trying to start a row or anything, but I just think its a big coincidence.

Question...

Do thieves, pick up the bike, put it into a van, drive away, then go joy riding on it?
I would've thought it'd be stolen to be sold?

Maybe, but I'm not like that...

Started stripping her down, tbh, it doesn't 'seem' like it's going to be that bad to fix. It's just the frame damage that is the most irritating part, getting hold of parts follows closely.

Daytime pics:

Anyone know the paint codes or where to find them for the bottom of the forks and caliper?

Started stripping her down...

Gone a funny colour? Kinda cool...

Nice tight fit....

Strange looking down at that, never ridden a naked bike before

Crash Bung removed

I think it looks kinda cool and has a mean stance

Part hunting begins
