Mine made 116bhp in that spec (Lexmaul inlet, Pipercross Viper, BFO exhaust, Janspeed manifold, decat) with a remap and raised rev limiter, however, standard 1.6s were quicker.
The same bits on the 1.6 engine saw 130bhp and it was totally different to drive, much smoother, a hell of a lot quicker, loads more low down grunt, just better all round.
We've recently done a 1.6 with a Mantzel copy inlet, Scorpion system, Janspeed manifold, decat and remap, and again, it made 130bhp.
It's in now for rod bolts, steel idlers, slightly bigger injectors and a remap and we're expecting good things from it.

I do use a vastly different cam profile, but 5ft/lb is nothing, different dynos have a +/- of 15% sometimes. People say mine (Dyno Dynamics in general) under reads compared to others but people get so hung up on BHP figures for no reason, in reality its what happens between 1000 rpm and 9000 rpm that is important. Look at V-tec. It makes a very poor, sluggish torque and power curve for 3/4 of the rev range then goes a bit mental. compare a 1600cc vtec engine with a well set up 1600cc 'normal' engine and at the point just before it 'comes on vtec' the non vtec engine is usually producing as much as 30-40 bhp more!
This is true, still good to see its gaining power still
Agreed about the Vtec systems, below vtec they are blow average power engines, until it hits vtec (obligitory Vtec YO) when it goes mental.

Mine:
X16xe
"Copy" mantzel inlet(which btw gave the same back to back gain that Stevex16xe's proper Mantzel gave)
Mild kent cams(near std profile)
Decat
2 1/4" exhaust, 4-1 exhaust manifold
Made 127bhp @ 6670rpm, at Jamsport in March

Yeah, dont bother, complete waste of time, and causes more hassle.

Bigger injectors, pointless. The standard ones will cope with that spec.
I'm guessing that you've got a 1.6. That is the spec that i am going for. It'll be around 135 - 140 bhp depending on who maps it and what your wanting from your engine.

yeah i have a 1.6, i want that sort of spec. I want near 145bhp if possible with that spec. Get a good suspension set-up and go and do some proper track days.

I know a couple of the 1400 rallycars are running big bhp. But also big money in the engine

Sbd's basic multiple throttle body kit with engine management; the same kit fits both x14xe and c/x16xe. Theyre website claims around 130bhp for a x14xe with that basic tb/management kit. Over 160 for the same kit on a c/x16xe. Pretty much 100bhp per litre for both those... without touching cams and headwork and so on.
Takes a fight to the vtec dudes.
Of course the latest fashion is the z18xe, as mentioned by warren.. the afore mentioned sbd t.b kit (with a different inlet manifold) also fits this engine. This (125bhp std) reportedly puts out 180ish bhp with the same t.b kit and its supposed to be 1.4/1.6 in size and weight (not big block)..?
Again, thats without touching cams, headwork etc. So there. No need to talk about big block. lol.
