You cant compare build quality, nothing vauxhall build is comparable. If novas and corsas were build for the same purpose you could compare quality.
You cant also say its not special because someone else has similiar power from a corsa. If someone built a wider mid engined corsa with a longer wheel base, rwd and 550bhp it would be special. So its only special because its been modified that way. Because its straight out the box it isnt a good car?

Nah your right Rick, Id much rather have a Nova or a Corsa than a Noble.
Sticking a big daft engine in a car thats primarily designed for shopping trips and school runs doesnt make it any sort of supercar! I know all about it, I wasted my time, effort and money with that shit over 10 years ago!
You need to get out of that shed pal!!!
No it doesnt make it a supercar your quite right..
But I would say you get much more personel satisfaction from building a car which could potentialy be just as fast for a fraction of the price.
They would never handle as good this is a known fact but most of the high powered vauxs are built for 1/4 mile action.
Put the noble against one round a track yes the noble would win.
Put the noble against Gaz's corsa at the pod and that would be a different story
Dont get me wrong matey, Im not knocking them, Im just saying they cant be compared to something like a Noble that is designed from the ground up as a mid engined supercar with right wheel drive!
Personal satisfaction - Totally agree with you, its whatever floats your boat, like I say, I did it in the past and to a certain degree I still do although these days. I dont get as much time as Id like and Im on a better wage than I was so of course Ill just buy something thats already done! I spent thousands on my old Corsa to see a true NA 200bhp and I reckon with what I spent I could have nought a Noble!!!
What does Gaz's Corsa run a 1/4 in? I still think it would struggle against a 550bhp Noble, even standard ones run sub 12's!!?
Yawn...
So hard to put your foot down and go in a straight line. Takes supreame skill...... Not.....
WOnder how above mentioned "super vauxhalls" would compare when coming IN to a corner, and actually round the bend (ie braking and handling).....
Getting massive power is easy, slap a big f-off turbo, some strengthening bits, boom, easy big power....
Making usable power, hardly any lag, now thats what its about, hence why im sure they are using T28's and not some huge silly size turbo...
200bhp Noble (detuned), or 1000bhp Corsa........
Still have the noble thanks.....

well the noble m15 was faster than:
Ferrari F430
Lamborghini Murcielago
Pagani Zonda
Koenigsegg
and believe it or not, also faster than an astra vxr

Ummmmm, NOT a chance in hell. Maybe if the Nobel driver was blindfolded....
Different leage. AStras not bad, but compared to a 400bhp RWD space framed carbon fibered car worth 3x as much....
No chance

the standard M12 isnt far off the sped and performance of the M14 or the M400.
3.0 vs twin turbo with 360 bhp and 350 ft/lb makes 0-60 in 3.6 seconds and 0-100 in under 9 seconds and Tiff Needel said its one of the best handling cars he has ever driven.

To compare.
Astra VXR
237bhp/237lb ft
0-60 in 6.2
0-100 in 14.8
And FWD
2 words....
NO CHANCE

I'm stunned this has made it to 3 pages But I'm going to guess the Summary is...
Folk like Rick take much more satisfaction in making a car with enough power to shock most cars in a straight line.
And other folk such as Stu are happy to buy a car that's quick out of the box, because they're past the DIY scene. All personal preference guys, no need to slate one anothers passions!
ps; I'd choose the Noble myself.

there is some right tits on this forum
A tigra with 500+ bhp imo is wank, its still a tigra on the outside and woo it can go fast in a straight line, still look like a tit.
