sound like gearbox bearings To me, if it dissapears when u press clutch

how do you know they even replaced the clutch and release bearing again?

Because they said they'd call me when it's in bits so I could pop over and see. Except it's a 15 minute bike ride. I agreed anyway, and when they called, said I was doing Uni work so they definitely took it to bits - if they had noticed they had done something wrong i.e. worn bits already, then would have replaced it.

Yeah. Car stationary, in neutral foot off clutch, makes a noise. Foot on clutch, noise goes away.
