The only time i would ever consider suicide would be if i was diagnoised with a terminal illness, i would rather end my life than be taken by an illness.

thought about a fair amount a few years ago, almost went through with it but thankgod i didnt.
looking back i do think it would have been the easy way out very very selfish on family and friends.
plus if i had done it i wouldnt be where i am now. (obviously )

i only knew one person that has commited suicide. he left an 11 year old son without a dad. the guy was a bit different though so i reckon he had mental health problems. he was called Geoff and worked in our plant. he came back after 2 week shut down and announced that he'd changed his name to Debbie Fox and was having a sex change. then after having hormone tablets and growing boobs he decided that he wanted to be a bloke again then killed himself. his poor son must of had a real shit time dealing with that. he was just about to start high school and knowing what kids are like, he probably got bullied to fuck over it.

A friend of my GF, her Dad hung himself from the landing of their house, knowing full well his daughter would come home from school to see him hanging there. Fucking horrible thing to do.

Cunningham, I'm not sure if you've had an easy life or whatever but you are very very naive if you honestly believe that depression comes to people who simply lie down to the simplest of problems. Infact I'd go as far as to say you're a bit of a numpty(previous word was a bit mean).

harsh shelley ive not had a hard life like most infact ive landed well on my feet
but your prob right until you experience great lows how would i know?
imo and thats all it is my opinion i dont think there would be anyhting that would make me have to go on anti depressants or worse take my own life

Depression is by no means a fake illness. A Sign of weakness? Jesus. Some people just can't deal with things as well as others, and if it's constantly one thing after the other it will get on top of that person if they don't know how to deal with things very well.
