Ben you hit the nail on the head.

its what is wrong with Britain. It the fundamental sense of entitlement and laziness that seems to have developed in this country.

when i lost my last job i couldnt get a crap job like maccy d's. they turned me down believe it or not. all employment agencies didnt want to know as i was born in this country. where i live its actually very hard to get a job. even a shit one. i tried to get anything and couldnt.

its really really easy for people to say its easy to get a job, as they sit there smugly knowing they have employment. if you've never had to waste hours a day getting nowhere looking for a job, even a crap job, then dont say its easy. you have no idea.

Like John, I'm unemployed. But I'm extremely confident that I'll have a job within the next couple of weeks. McDonalds, KFC etc are always looking for folk.

neither was i. im a hard worker, a fast kean learner always have been always will be. i couldnt get a shit job at all. i was either not what they were looking for, or considered to be someone who wasnt going to be there long enough for them to waste time training.

have some sympathy for the unemployed. people do try, people fail at getting shit jobs. your an unemployed snob if you assume everyone but yourself is a layabout. thats a disgusting attitude to take and blatantly ignorant to the fact that not everyone lives where you do, so those jobs you know about arent any good if someone has to travel 200 miles for £5.50 an hour are they?

i hope you struggle to find a job. i really do. you deserve it calling others layabouts.

edit, actually john, i dont mean that, i know how tough it is. i just get quite annoyed when people assume everyone on the dole isnt trying. ignore last comment or hurl abuse. your choice pal.

I suggest we set a challenge for both the jobless and employed on this board (although it would be hard to prove) See who can get the most job offers before next weekend

I reckon I could get 2 just in my high street.

Those on the dole shouldn't need to be challenged on here, they should want to go out and get one anyway.

Ive been out of work twice in almost 10 years & of that found work within a week the 1st time & 2nd time less than 24hrs!!

Jobs I took - well yeah it was the scraps that no one wanted, low paying but i'll tell you I had a bloody good laugh doing my in-between jobs. Always got a good lot to work with as well as some rockets to laugh at.

Done 3 months on a production line doing 12hr shifts. Great fun, tiring though.

Done 4 months working for a tool hire company in the vans & servicing equipment. LOVED THAT JOB.

Works there if your willing to do it.

IMO dole money should be stopped after a few months, imo if you havnt got a job by then, your not trying hard enough!!

Yeah I heard on the news there about the only place expanding just now.

Apparently they were due to close 20 of the smaller centres but have had to keep them open now to cope!!

IMO dole should be given out in the form of food vouchors and basic genral living bills paid.

We have gone quiet at work, quite worrying really. They need to sort themselves out and pull in more work.
