Do you go out of your way to piss people off?
What is wrong with that? How on earth can that annoy anyone. Where does it deflame or insult anyone other than state a fact?
John is just clearly bored. He does this every so often, post after post replying just to me. I wouldn't worry about it. We see this often with stalkers Happens every few weeks or so.

Most trains run on diesel I think is/was the point. Although im not sure.
Most busineses rely on the oil/gas industry to deliver.

That's not what he meant, he must think they're powered from the sun shining out his back end.

So, you get one bus one day when the petrol station is charging 97.9.
Next day, they are charging 103.9
Does your bus fare go up the next day?
No
When does it go up?
When the companies put up the prices due to inflation..........
Yes John, I though busses are powered by the methane from your mouth? I.E the sh1t that comes out?

I think most Loco trains do yeah, and some of them short trip type ones.
Many run on just electricity (which still comes from a natural resource anyway ).
My points just that prices of a bus or train does not go up just becuase the fuel price goes up. How would people ever know what money to carry are the fare would be changing every few days.
But im thick, so ignore me

I would have thought it was like any business, when the costs go up you hold your prices for as long as you can in case the price comes back down again. Im not in the public transport game though.

Companies like train/bus companies, haulage companies generally review their prices anually, but when the fuel went sky high a few months ago I can remember a few making increases to meet the extra costs.
Are they as eager to make reductions now the price of fuel has come down...............have they fuck!! Im glad I dont have to rely on public transport!!

Neither am i....
I just remember catching the bus a lot when i was younger. Prices would usually go up over time, but they wouldn't change on a daily or weekly basis like a petrol company prices does, (or even the price of a barral of oil, that goes up and down a few times a day I thought on the old traders???)
If prices went on what things were selling for on the market at the time. Well buying something would be hard, 10 min later it'll have shot up or down.
Its done over time, over the cost of inflation and what makes a profit.

Thankyou. But i'd even say more than that. Certainly not "daily" though depending on what a barral of oil costs.
So, John, you were saying...... I don't have a clue wasn't it?
I don't know the ins n outs, never ever claim I do, im just not stupid and can see how the world works...........

Just to throw in my 2 cents...
I'm shocked the uk fuel price is still in the eighty pence bracket!
Everywhere else I've been in the world has been closer to 40-50 pence!
it's a joke we're paying so much still imo.

You still don't have a clue, you said oil prices don't affect public transport, this is 100% incorrect no matter how many posts you want to make with terrible spelling saying otherwise.

Thats because the Tax & fuel dutys more than 40-50 pence!!
It wont go any lower, soon companies will force the price back up through supply/demand!

Ok you didn't, all your posts are edited and as you've said petrol and not oil i'm not waiting for a pedantic reply letting me know that.
I regretted repyling to you before I had even typed out the first one.

Public transports a joke anyway, I had to get a bus into town one day when my car was in for a service, £1.80 to go about 3 miles. wtf, thats almost 4 quid there & back. Theres no way it would cost anywhere near that to drive my car
Edinburghs got a good service however, £1 on & it doesnt matter where you get off.

If they sorted public transport out I recon people would use it. I certainly would if it ment it was a similar cost to using the car plus you can have a drink at lunchtime etc etc.

I've not editted any words like that, i edit posts after real bad spelling (as im a busy person, my fingers type fast and i can't be assed to proof read, this is not some report, this is CS forum!!!). Or i'll think of another line to add in.
So you just wrote stuff to try to make me feel bad. Top guy!!!!! Least im keeping on post and relevent and debating it

I'll be taking the train to Dyce when I eventually head offshore (been delayed again ) but the shitty service isnt going to make it a plesent experience.
Last week when I was up there for training the bloody train broke down at edinburgh & needed a new engine delaying folk by 5hrs. I was glad I drove
