Yea  I didn't mind putting them in, and i can touch my eye no problem (the white bit anyway). As soon as i came around, i was raring to try it again even though the optitions weren't so keen. I just think if i had 'frickin laser beams' in my eyes i'd pass out for sure

apparently you cant feel a thing during the proceedure, only a bit after do they sting a bit.

Ive not got a consultation as such, just an eye test. I was hoping they would be able to advise me taking into account how much of a pussy i am with contact lenses.

Oh right I see. Well I had an eye test as part of my offshore medical 2 weeks ago & asked about lazer treatment & the woman didnt know anything about it.

I'm on -2.25 and was quoted quite a bit cheaper for the same treatment... wavefront etc...
I want mine done this summer. Need to book myself into Ultralase for a consultation...

Im the same as Voyto ^ I tried contacts, well, i say tried, really the woman tried to put them in for me and my eye just wouldnt open. At all. Cant touch my eye really, hate things in it, even bloody water

does the anaesthetic stop u blinking and generally moving your eye? Bit worried i'd flinch or something and fuck my eye mid procedure!

Thing is i COULD have got it done a bit cheaper but i've heard bad stories about Optimax etc etc and i only have one set of eyes...i have the money...so i got the best comapny to do it.

I've considered laser treatment but my sight isn't as bad as most, I'm -0.5 in the left and -1 in the right so maybe my eyes haven't settled down just yet, but although I'd like to get it done and money shouldn't be an issue with regards to your health, what if it goes wrong? You only get one pair.

Granted, but my mum had to wear glasses all the time - and by her own admission was fairly blind, and now she has no need to wear glasses at all.
She also had her treatment at Ultralase in Southampton - £3700 sounded steep thats all.

3.7k does sound expensive but you get what you pay for with regards to the best surgeons/advice/quality of the procedure.
i'll be looking to get laser surgery on my -2.25 eyes within the next couple of years, seems like it'd be a good investment. just means i'll have to miss out on a holiday abroad for a year

How is it worked out? how well your eyes can adjust from far to close things without being blurry?
20/20 represents 'perfect' vision
At 20 feet you can see perfectly.
Someone at 20/40 for example has the quality of sight at 20 feet, to what a 'normal' 20/20 person would have at 20 feet.
So say person A is 20/20, and person B is 20/100.
There is a Piece of text 20 feet away from them, and a piece of text 100 feet away from them.
Person A can see the 100foot piece of text as well as Person B can see the 20foot piece of text.....
If that makes any sense
