Total strip to bare shell, paint stripped then rebuilt up from new/reconditioned parts. Basically a complete restoration, nothing untouched.
Plans are to have it better than it came out the factory.
are you really sure you want the hassle
comming from someone with the same aim

I want it tidy. Not too tidy to not use but with any tatty bits tackled and sorted out. Spec will be fairly as standard apart from the wheels, suspension and exhaust. Perhaps some engine work, see what happens. Want to keep it looking fairly factory.
that just reminds me off the nova that was restored, and that is too tidy to use.
apart from the fact its driven everywhere yea mobby ?

I think he means that concourse stuff is sooo clean it never goes out on the road and is covered and trailered everywhere. Ian wants his car clean and well presented but also use it, take it out on drives and to shows.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Yes, well presented but there's no way I'm losing anything about ownership. Building it to store and look at is a complete waste.

Yeah I saw your sale thread. Most of what I need is things like bolts and other consumable type stuff. Surprised I've never seen you around tbh, would have noticed a twinny

What was more suprising, was that it worked after...
Suprisingly comfy, ish.....

Nothing on the Corsa for a while, it's just sitting at the back of the workshop while I get the Puma ready for Combe and Trax.
Plan is to book it in somewhere for the shell prep late Sept/Oct time so I can start the rebuild over the winter.

I hope the smallblock is going back in? Would be a shame not to and to see yet another C20XE/LET in a GSi.

Very nice to see something happening with it, did you say you had a pic of mine and your car together from years back?

Yeah sticking with the C16XE.
Got pics of yours from a meet in Derby in 2001 I think Rickie.
Yes Dave, rebuild. When I've finished both our Pumas.

Have you ever had any problems with your front plate Ian? I think I might go for a small one like yours on my Corsa...

Only that the MOT tester refused to start the test once. Never been pulled with it but then I've only ever done about 1000 miles since I bought it.
