i'm in no rush to own a property, have a baby, or marry a bird. I just want an easier life which is not what I have at the moment, just loads of hassle.

Agreed....But at the moment its silly trying for a mortgage, some companies offering real low interest, but only for about 2 years.
I'm no where near the mortgage stage yet (thanks to stupid car :lol
But I laugh at the people are know that think they are all that because they're renting a house. I make them look at how much they'd be spending in say 10 years. Then ask them what they have to show for it, and the reply i get is "oh...."
