the wheels arent really worth as much as the car though, maybe in your opinion.

as for the money, say you had a really shit house, but couldnt possibly afford the mint house next door. bet you'd spend a few £ trying to make your shit house more appealing

Im not slagging it, just saying i dont get why people blow so much money on shit like that when it could be better spent. Be it VAG, vaux, ford, pug etc. We wouldnt be in such a bad financial situation if people prioritised their spending better and didnt get credit out for stupid stuff they couldnt actually afford.

I appreciate cars built to destroy conventional ideas (sill power corsas, escorts etc) and homebrew specials that didnt cost the earth for what was achieved.

Jr - Your entitled to your opinion as much as anyone. to me neither car is worth a £1500 set of wheels.

As for the taxi and older jetta comment, i was proving a point the vento the bora replaced was a better looking car and would have complikmented the wheels better.

jesus, is giving you opinion on a public forum not allowed anymore?

The difference is the money you spend on your property will boost its market value, you will make money on the money you spend. The money you spend on your car is as good as pissing it down the drain and will only ever continue to loose money. Unless your restoring a classic, but a bora isnt exactly in the same league as an E type jag or Mk1 escort is it?

Its true though, the amount of times my friends have spunked a shit load of cash modifying a car/bike then when i pointed out what they could have had for the extra expenditure they regretted the purchase as they never fully explored their options of upgrading first. Hell ive even spent money doing something up then wishing i never did as it was a waste of money, i learned quickly though.

but then if someone really doesnt like your shit house they wont buy it regardless of price, if they really like it they will regardless of price.

i imagine with the wheel choice he would get whatever he asked for it, seeing that someone came along who really really wanted the car. wouldnt be you of course

Your not understanding me, you could have an opinion on one of my vehicles saying you disliked it and thought i wasted my money and couldnt understand why i did it. Id take your comments on board, maybe ask for your reasoning, but id never tell you to leave my thread...

And in reality, if somone needs somewhere to live and your house is in their budget they will buy it if the price is right. If your house isnt very nice then you price it aptly to sell or spend even more money on renovation to make it more appealing. Property is the best place to have your money in as it will always be worth something, yes house prices are falling but they will rise again. cars will always continue to fall and never rise.

The wheel choice would make it harder to sell, as he will expect £1000+ ontop of the standard asking price of a bora and the market will be very very limited for a an overpriced bora. As a trader, bolt on crap does nothing other than DE-VALUE a car/bike as it become harder to sell, and aftermarket or not it still needs those parts for it to function correctly.

dont you think the guy knew that putting the wheels on the car would not add value? do you think that was his actual aim? he done it as he thinks it looks good. IMO it done what he wanted it to do.

if he was worried that much about money he would sell the car and use a bike/public transport?
