Do you let your chickens out all day then; when you're not there?

yeah, I let them out in the morning and then when it goes dark they carry them selves off to bed, I just have to shut the shed door to stop foxes getting in

gonna brred them just as a bit of a challenge really, Il get rid of the chicks once they have grown up either by selling them or giving them away, I could never kill one, even to eat it

Good stuff!, the other day we found one of our chickens on the farm in the duck pond, and it had frozen half in, half out the water over night obviously was dead...

3 eggs a day, and thats slow I was under the impression you would get 1 egg a day from each chicken, and that would be too many

Danny it is 1 egg per chicken a day, I have 13 hens and only 3 of them are laying an egg a day, I doubt its the same 3 laying every day consitently but more like a group of about 9 doing one every other day
its amazing how fast eggs pile up though when you have 13 or 14 of the things a day everyday in summer
LETGSI16V
foxes are a problem but Im well prepared, I have chicken wire all round the fence that goes about 2 and a half feet underground incase the fox tries to dig under and the fences them selves are 6and a half foot tall, I dont think its impossible for a fox to jump that high but its very very unlikely
Ive had a cat in before and the cockerel fucked it off , I dont think they bother much with chickens

done a fair bit of work lately, doesnt look much though
Cockerel is huge now, he weighs a ton
I Hatched 4 chicks from 6 eggs, sadly the brown one died leaving me with 3 black ones
Got My veggies in early and sprinkled some grass seed
Veggies today and planted all my flowers
and today I aquired 2 railway sleeper which I thought I would make a raised bed out of to put some flowers in a corner that was looking quite bare (to the left of the farest gate)
more pics of that when its stained and has plants in it, looks really small on the photos, its 4ft long by 17 inch deep

Nice to finally see a big cock on here after all those pictures and video's of Jay!
Top work, what are you growing veg wise?
Also, what did you do with the chicks? Left them to nature to hatch I assume?
