man i feel for shearer. can see how much this has crushed him. not as a manager, but as a fan for the club more so.
just after the final whistle i swear he had tears in his eyes. he even said it tho. the players arent good enough. you cant polish a turd in 8 games, given an impossible task, so in a strange way this may be good for the club
They do have a few players who are better than several of the other clubs above them. The main place you are lacking is in the centre of the park, absolutely nobody capable of a killer pass.

thing is when you look at the championship, there are some cracking teams in there. in the longterm it might be good for the club. but immediate effect will be shocking id say. even next season, have to looko at surviving in the championship and building a team for a fwe seasons time. build, dont buy 30+ year olds that have had their moment, just to get promoted to struggle again.

i think that might be true in a way, but there was no team. yes a couple of the players are good players. but you can play well as a team with average players than you can with a team of awesome individuals. hull, stoke etc all prove that.
you cant win a game of football if nobody is capable of scoring a goal imho. yeah everything else is also important. but whats a killer pass, or an awesome cross if you havent got someone to lead the line. newcastle havent had that since shearer left at all.

It's not the done thing though. Plus, it's other stuff too. Like his 'Jose Mourinho' wannabe coat he wears. That gay microphone thing he always has. Sitting his players infront of their fans at COM so he could give them a half time bollocking. He thinks he is some sort of new age manager or some shit. But in reality he is a lemon. A perma-tanned lemon.

spot on about phil brown there nath. cant stand him.
Newcastle were awfull today, and pretty much summed up the season to be fair. the team is full of past it underperforming, dead wood players. so in a way as said, the relegation may be a good thing. means they get rid of the tat and bring in some fresh young up and coming stars.
But the championship is a very very hard league. 80% of the teams in the league probably think they have a chance of going up/winning the league. Just personally hope newcastle cement thier place in the league now. spend well. and dont end up like the southampton, leeds, charlton etc.
I just really hope us (wolves) dont go chasing after some of your players now. I wonder where owen will go now.

Owen will not go to Man City, any footballing pier with any ounce of business sense would know it's the worst move in football.
Just think of the ageing strikers you can nick for a small fee at the moment who are better than Owen.
Ronaldo - coming back form the injuries he has had to do what he's doing in the Brazilian league at the moment is incredible.
Van Nistelrooy - Confirmed by Real Madrid that his injury has passed but they are going to rest him over the summer to ensure full fitness for next season.
Crespo - Still capable of banging in goals in a tough league, and unsure of his future.
Plus there is plenty of young strikers that can be picked up for good prices at the moment.
