to an employer thats a piss take. no matter which way you look at it.
yeah i know i agree lol, i would never do it, i think since ive been working ive had one day off sick and thats accross every job ive had since i was 16.
but he asked if they could do out, yeah they can shout at him but i doubt they can legally do anything since he has a sick note, not that im an expert by any means.

plan for you. maybe go meet your mates at a queer bar. if anyone from work sees you chances are it will never get reported.

you joking lol have you seen the plethra of stupid and pointless tasks an employer has to go through before they can sack someone for being off on the sick lol
fair enough if he called in on a friday and his boss seen him drinking on the night, but you cant get sacked for being seen outside when you have a sick note.
theres a lot of steps you have to take to get rid of someone for stuff like being off on the sick over a long period of time, but stupid really as some people really take the piss.

I think i'd get a bollocking maybe but would more than be able to justify my reasons. I just think the same as ssj, going to the pub to say hello isn't going to stress my throat and vocal cords like constantly talking for 8 hours would, aswell as the mental strain when i'm getting four/five hours sleep.

You can return to work before the end date on the suck note but only on the grounds that its your own decision to do so.

its a health and safety thing. say he fell asleep on the phone and triggered a massive occurance of events similar to what has been seen in the final destination movies resulting in someone getting run over by a bus in paris when he should have been at home as he was still signed off sick.

tbh if it was one of my employees then Id be pissed, but I wouldnt fire that person (or even discipline) as it just wouldnt hold up should it go to a tribunal.
You can get away with anything these days as an employee.

i had a week off on doctors orders earlier this year. i know it's boring as fuck but you have been given this time to relax and get better. don't risk losing your job just to have a few beers with your mates.

If he has been SIGNED off he CANNOT go to work. The employer is breaking the law.
What I don't get is, if you REALLY want to see you mate, and REALLY want a beer, why not ask him to bring a 6 pack round your house?????
Otherwise, do you REALLY need to ask this question????

The employer would have to prove that the reason you have been signed off is also a reason why you should not be in a pub.
IMO it is not, and Im certain they'd have a hard time trying to prove this.

I think an industrial tribunial would find it fairly easy to vote in favour of the employer if a signed off employee was proven to be in a pub.
