I was thinking the same, only one I can think of is Mancienne??
Not on a consistent basis though.

Craig comparing us to City isn't exactly the same. They are buying so many players and shitting on the youth. Roman when he bought us didn't just do that, he invested heavily in the youth system and the training grounds. Chelsea also now do loads more for charity and they involve the old boys and help them if they need operations for example.

JT but clearly it takes time. Doesn't happen over night does it
Yet we could say the same about Liverpool no, and Man United ?
I dont see either me, Marc, Strick...in fact any of us saying any different.
You said Im wrongly comparing you and City, as Roman invested in youth.
He has been there how many years now, 6, 7?
Yet in that time how many players has either been locally brought in and then through the system, or been local and through?

Nearly seven years. Yes but what he has done compared to pre-Roman is massive which shows how pants it was before. You don't have many youth teamers coming through straight away in any of the top clubs because the top clubs starting 11 is going to be better. Jack Cork, Ryan Bertrand, Mancienne, Sinclair have all done well on loan at Championship clubs and some of them have played for the first team but not on a consistent basis because our starting 11 is tough for any youngster.

Within 7yrs Im sure Wenger has a whole load coming through.
Within 5yrs we have Insua close to being our first choise LB (he was signed 4yrs ago), and both Spearing and Darby (both local) are now very much int he first team squad.
Thats without Romans billions.

You just sold Insua ?
The other two you mention rarely play. Sinclair, Stoch, Mancienne have made our bench quite a few times this season but as you stated on a consistent basis ? no for both clubs.
It takes time to break through.

I'd say Evans was very consistant, and Simpson given the chance.
Welbeck has played very well when used.
Agreed with the others.

The only one who you could say got a consistent shot at it was Evans. But if Vidic and Ferdinand are fit he won't be playing. I hear Ipswich might come calling though

We havent sold insua
He played 10 games (started 9) in the league last year, and would of been more if he didnt go to the U20 WC in Jan/Feb when he was on his run of starts.
He is more or less considered our starter LB next season.
Both Spearing and Darby started 2 in the league, more in the CL.

Leto. And that was due to not being able to get a work permit, nothing to do with not being good enough (he was the best player in the reserves easily a season before last).
What me and Marc have just shown is, Roman with his billions has not invested heavily in youth as in 7yrs you've brought no one through yet we both have.
So you're as bad as Citeh.

He is actually a really good player. Very small but he is so strong and powerful driving foward.
I didnt think he was going to make it with us, but he may just do it. Both him and Darby signed a new 3yr deal last week.

I knew it was one young Argentine! It's millions he's invested not billions and the set up and coaching is now superb compared to what it was. We have some great young lads at Chelsea and on loan who will make the step up some time but how will these young kids beat the likes of Essien, Drogba, Cech etc not easy. And you lot haven't had any one since Carragher and Stevie me.

One minute, did I not just point out Insua? Darby? Spearing? Even if you only accept Insua thats one more than you lot have brought though in 7rs (compared to Rafa's 5yrs and probably 1/10th of the budget).
Accept it, the way City are acting now is the same you were back when Roman bought you. Spending over the odds on players and having to offer top wages so they came to you.

You said earlier the word 'CONSISTENT' I do not count Insua as consistent or fleeting appearances from the other two. I could mention Sinclair, Stoch, Mancienne then.
