well with the block back i needed some pistons so i got a set of omega low comp forged pistons from steve milton with pockets to handle +1mm oversize valves
with these bought i took the block, pistons and crank to paul gardner to have the block bored, honed, decked and crank ground if it needed it, turned out the crank was still perfect after 21 years of work! so it was just polished and balanced, he also supplied me with the genuine big end/mains bearings (heavy duty turbo diesel ones)
block when i got it back
crank polished and balanced
bearings

hi barnes
couple of pics of my intercooler, some of you may have seen it before
the job i was dreading was doing the cutout on the crossmember so it would fit
looking all nice
after a bit of a weigh up i just cut along there
quick trial fit revealed it fits ok apart from the pipes on end tanks are very tight against the inside of the chassis legs so i took the intercooler to have the pipes cut off and re welded 10mm further in on both ends
cut out
did a bit of welding for some strength
so i then bent and cut some 18 gauge sheet steel to weld in
welded in
i have since painted too so thats a job less to worry about

Looking good. With the FMIC pipes i wish i had just had some alloy bends welded on to the existing pipes, that way angling the boost pipes where i need them. Got to be easier than other options?
Looking good, that cross member looks spot on. Going to be a monster when its done.

well thanks for the pics of your cross member to start with, i think the ic should be fine with the pipes moved further inwards, plenty of clearence to get pipes on ok now, hoping for about 400 bhp or there abouts
i got my rec valves today too, they look the dogz! no pics yet though
