gods honest truth here, im reallly shocked.

I swapped some -80mm springs for -35mm springs due to me worrying about handling too much.

Does his car really handle that well?
does it have a RARB or is the rear drop just to stiffen it up greatly?

your have to ask stu, but if you listen to to many people your never get a nova/corsa to handle

not that ive witnessed lee303/darr/the stick/smc/willays car acully handle

fair enough they have all had a bit spent of them, but untill you actully go out and look at how they do, talking about on here doesnt get you very far

cool i will have a look at that. its not that far to knockhill really compared to crail. id be hoping that whatever i lose on the corners say it 10mph, i can get that 10mph back in a second once out the corner. id say thats my hope for the car being ok on a track. i suppose also the fact i use it a lot on the roads means its not a full on drag set up thing so it still goes ok for what it is.

i think i will do as ak says for now. have a go then work out what needs changed. will have a read up on your track day in september.

well i wont be able to do it for maybe a month. so some time in september is good. ive got 1/4 mile things the next 2 weeks then need time to fix whatever it breaks on the strip

but indeed id feel a lot better about it if i was with other people looking crap at the same time

What sort of power output? Read threads speaking about your car, must be quick high BHP.

my car hasn't had money thrown at. It us been a slow progression 2 1/2 years of adding and changing things trying them out on the track, learning the cars behaviour the n changing and adding more things etc.

Everything has been done for a reason.
Ie 90mm drop at the rear with higher poundage springs was because on 40mm springs the arse was saggy and being dragged round corners, now it follows and is more balanced leading towards a little bit of over steer.
See page one for the suspension spec.

My biggest problem is problably the opposite of nic's.
Because I only have a c16xe in it about 120bhp with a few mods, I really struggle on the straights but hopefully I have made up for the power loss by having a fairly good handling which I know exactly how to get the most out of it through the corners. Certainly surprises a few newer good handling standard cars ie. 172,182,ctr,coopers.

I run a cav rarb on mine and the difference it made is unbelievable, ALOT more stable and can even get abit of oversteer.

its got a good lower power map in the ecu. can change it on a switch. makes 350 ish bhp on 0.6 bar so probably use that one to begin with see how it goes.

what suspension set up do you have currently sorry?

if the map is ok, then RARB and a048s on the back, if you have a quaife, its all about how you drive it, not how it drives.

edit, just read through, leave it as is apart from the above imo

a048r's on back probably just wont happen. its another 190 quid for 2 of them. im just basically going to go and have a go. see how i get on. rear arb is something i need to do i think from what everyone is saying. will check out the cav fittig guide thing from daveb and get myself down the scrappy.

i only want to do it for fun. nothing else really. it does ok on the 1/4 but ive done that for long enough time to try some bends.

Only problem without the a048's on the rear from experiance, is the fact they make the arse end real twitchy if you have them just on the front

my corsa on fk's with rear arb and rear strut the same as yours handled very well. It had abit of reverse rake(back lower than the front) which i thought helped abit and the suspension was pretty much rock solid so to m,e made the car alot more stable and easier to control . Not that me telling you will help anyway but i think harder suspension is the way to go

suspension is set as hard as it can be. it needs to be so the back end doesnt squat so much as you launch it. so yeah, done that. i think the rear arb is the thing to try before i go and see if its possible for a corsa to make it round a corner. people say it isnt. ive always disagreed.
