I kind of knew it had something to do with fast-twitch muscles. Another question is:
Why do black men have more fast twitch muscles? What about their evolution / genetic make up means they have more?

I imagine it has something to do with where they have evolved.
You often find that its Africans that are very good at long distance running, is this due to the huge area they live in, the sparse nature of food/water meaning long distance travel is a must - survival of the fittest would indicate that the ones who can travel the furthest fastest would push that race to evolve into good long distance runners.
And its often Caribbean's who are good at short distance. I have no idea what environmental factors help evolve this trait, could be something to do with living on small islands I suppose.

thats my theory, either running for food coming out of airplanes (relief aid) or running to get the water first
he looked quite tired today, although didn't even need to run that fast to get through.

The guy is a machine, apparently he can do the 400m aswell, even though he said he doesn't enjoy it.
Would be brilliant for someone to have world records in all three distances, wonder if it's ever been done

You could tell he was going for that record....normally he would have eased up at 150m.

No superlatives left for the guy, he is fucking super man
You can't just blow a field of world class athletes out the water like that He had overtook the guy in the next lane, who finished second, within 15 metres ffs.

''it wasn't a good race''
the man is so modest, should be able to go even faster if he concentrates on just one event.

I missed it live, but just managed to see a repeat of it now.
He certainly slowed down towards the end. Im not sure if this was on purpose or if it was down to tiredness/lack of fitness, but he certainly wasnt going full pelt when he crossed the line as he should be at 200m.
