To be honest when I look at things in a relative manner I think that Ronaldo at £80m is cheap. People go on about Liverpool fans banging on about 5 European trophies but look at who he joined, a team that won 5 European trophies in 5 years. It really does put it into perspective.
Oh, I have said it numerous times before but ManUre wouldn't be the club they are without the Munich Disaster. They had little to no history (in a comparison to other teams at the time) but because they came back they became infamous, the World loves someone/something that overcomes adversatity. It could have happened to a number of bigger clubs at the time and by god they have cashed in since.

I've always said the Munich disaster and Sir Matt Busby are the 2 reason United are what they are now, Without doubt the Munich disaster put United on the lips and in the hearts of people in so many Countryies. Which is why we have such a big turnover now.
Ronaldo we had no chance of keeping hold of him at all, He wanted to go and I accept that and happy to get £80M and hope he does well. But £80M in football terms is crazy but as a martketing exercise it's good business sense by Madrid.
