5.56mm entering a body then hitting someone else? Are you entirely sure about that? It's well known that the 5.56mm isn't a very powerful round at all.
In Vietnam when the Americans switched from using the M14 to the M16 you would often find that the Americans would drop their M16 in combat and pick up AK47s as in jungle war you need something that has the ability to go through the undergrowth and still find it's target.
Obviously anything firing a 5.56mm round is going to be more accurate than a 7.62mm and that is the primary reason for it being adopted as the standard Nato round, that and the weight.

Only repeating what the kind officers were telling me. Unless of course they are also using a different weapon other than the G36 of which they were refering too. Tried doinga search but oddly enough i cant find any info on what weapons the armed police carry, lol
