Your idea sounds like the best solution if they absolutely have to come in to our league. You can guarantee they wouldnt do that though

Turkeys don't vote for christmas.....
The best way would be to stick us in the bottom rung, which I would bite anyones hand off for right this second. The SPL is a mediocre footballing back water in todays terms and it always will be, we will never realise our potential whilst we're ring fenced in such a tin pot league.

Would take you about 10 years to get up to the Premier League, you would no doubt lose all your players and struggle to make it ot League 2.

If it took 20 years I'd still take it, the alternative is winning a 2 horse race and being European also rans until the end of time.

Also at this.
The first and only set of fans in the world to ever receive a UEFA and FIFA fair play award based on fan behaviour. 70,000 travelling supporters for 1 game and no arrests, our supporters are fine thank you.

The Rangers fans were good in Manchester I must admit.

When I said bottom rung I meant the realistic bottom rung We won't be going below conference level with a 60,000 seater stadium

If they mean the actual bottom of the entire league system they are deluded

Agreed. Celtic & Rangers are feck all to do with English Football.
If they were on about starting a British League, then thats fair enough, but then you've had to include other Scottish teams as well as Welsh and Northen Irish teams.
Will never happen anyways, so I dont why it gets brought up every 6 months.

They were invited to play in our leagues IIRC.
They didn't ask to come over just to earn a bit of extra TV revenue.

We aren't asking either, it is Phil Gartside's proposal. The fact it's common knowledge both would look into any avenue to greater television revenue is neither here nor there, we're not chapping anyones door.

Do you honestly believe that is a logistical possibility? The suggestion we should go lower than the football league won't even be thought of.

I doubt anyone really thought this would ever happen anyway.
