Not had any updates for a while as ive been busy at work and getting ready for xmas.
Managed to fit a spare bonnet i had while i get the other one painted so its white on top but red underneath Had to put the depos on my daily runner as ive sold my angel eyes so its taken a small step back. Fitted a white engine cover, fitted washer jets to the spare bonnet.
Unfortunately my daily runner is clinging to life as the head gaskets gone on the outside so its leaking water down the outside of the block and its only a matter of time before it goes all the way through to the cylinder. So looks like im going to have to get this one on the road before i have it finished
Still left to do before MOT is:
swap wheels over so i have legal tyres (Failed as they wont fit over the brakes )
Fit GSI front bumper (just until i get my other one sorted)
Put depos back on
Fit CAT (Done)
Weld plate onto rear beam
Fit indicator bulb
Not a lot of big jobs just time and money consuming at a time when im skint
Also splitting my daily driver to get some funds so check my for sale thread for parts
Still to do before i get it finished:
Astra VXR Nurburg Decals
Front bumper from Andyc
Spray arches
Spray sideskirts
Spray rear bumper
Spray bonnet
Fit boot popper
Refurb Speedlines with new tyres
3" outward rolled exhaust
Re-trim front seats or repair damage
Spray interior plastics gloss black or white
Clean and fit wind deflectors (Done)
Fix rev counter
Silicone hoses
Few chrome goodies for engine
So its a long way off yet but i cant wait to get it finished!

No problem Andy it will be after New Year when i get paid for xmas so should be about 2nd or 3rd i'll sort something out.
Cheers Kurt i was going to check all of it and see what was what may just be a case of a quick bit of rewiring to get a good connection.

It looks clean in pics mate but its far from how i want it yet its going to need a full respray at some point as theres a big chunk of paint missing on the roof, a scratch down the rear quarter and rust on the passenger door. Alloys need a refurb aswel and they are curbed and have gone a creamy colour instead of white. So to get it how i want it im looking a good couple of grand yet

Its a right ball-ache doing a full car i had my last one done and it was a nightmare stripping it, prepping it and then painting it.
How much to do the alloys mate or do you reckon there would be enough paint left over from the other bits?

TBH i dont mind the sanding its the taking everything off then masking it all perfectly that annoys me as you always miss a bit and end up with overspray or the tape goes just onto the bodywork and it leaves a line. All the parts i would like you to do will come already sanded so you dont have to worry i'll have a think about the wheels and see how it goes.

Well a little update for today
Fitted my brand new Cat Convertor. To be honest its not that nice lying on your driveway under your car in the snow but for the price i paid for it i cant complain!
I also went to swap my wheels over. Speedlines off - Astra wheels on = FAIL.
I got the astra wheels off my daily runner and took the front speedline off. Put the astra wheel on. Bolted it tight. Then realised it was stuck on the caliper because of the size of my brakes. Gutted! Means ive now got to get 4 new tyres before it can go for its MOT now.
On the plus side my new arches are in the post along with my decals Just got to bob a few bits up to andyc's for painting, get my new tyres, fit my decals, find another back box as i dont like the one on it, send it for its MOT and then its up and running
Edit: along with fitting all the parts when they come back from paint, refurbing the drivers seat, dying the roof lining, painting the interior plastics, sorting out the boot popper, sorting out why the radio goes off sometimes when i turn the car on, sorting out the rev counter connection and finally giving it a good polish after all that!

there V6 calipers btw
make sure you put the speedlines back on the right way round aswell.. i had to chamfer an edge around them to stop them catching the pad
its something to do with there being 2 types of speedline allesio 2's.. the hub face is slightly different on some and sticks further out and is thinner

Cheers Kurt. Ye Josh told me they were 2.5 v6 brakes but i thought i might get lucky and they'll fit under 15's but they just catch Theres quite a bit of clearance on the speedlines though

Nah ive not sorted it out yet. Thats one of the jobs whilst the parts are off being sprayed Along with painting the calipers, finishing waxoiling the inner archs and lower engine bay, tidy the engine bay up a bit and get a quote to have the seats refurbed Atleast the exterior should look how i want it soon minus the exhaust and decals but hopefully i'll have both of them sorted in the not so distant future.

Another update for today. Seem to be getting quite a lot done over the past week!
Well even though the weather is shit ive still got quite a bit done:
Removed all the tyres from the speedlines
Removed all the arches again
Removed the rear bumper again
Sanded down rear bumper again to give a perfect flat finish
Sanded down sideskirts again
Sanded down alloys
Sanded down centre caps
Fitted Cat convertor
Received new arches
Sanded down new arches to remove the little dimples
Ordered new euro rear lights
Ordered new decals
Sorted out with Andyc when i can take the bits for spraying
All thats left to do is:
Put the sprayed bits back on
Swap depos over
Get new back box
Fit rear lights
Fit decals
and then the exterior is done
Then to start on the interior and engine
Anyway pics from the past few days work
New cat
bit of fun in the snow on my drive with bald tyres
how the wheels started
Centre caps after sanding
Alloys after sanding
In this pic you can just about see the cream colour and tar on the lower half of the pic and how after a quick sand the colour it used to be on the top half
New arches
And finally a pic of the sanded arch not quite finished but you can see the dimples have gone off it
