I've just bought one, but for three reasons:
1) hide the rust and bad paintwork
2) I like the looks
3) until my badboy bonnet is made

i see what danny and barnshaw are saying. my vectra has more on the bumper than the bonnet in regards to stone chips. so does my corsa. id never get a bra for either. people like what they like though i guess. some people like scene mods and to follow the scene gang.
