Can anyone advise me to good break pads?
a bit of explaination, like why are the GM ones not as good as green stuff for example?

mintex what?
from what iv heard, very very good
and when/if i need new pads il get mintex
but just for road, hardley worth it, mines stops very very well, would lock up at 100+ if you tried

These ones Warren but not sure if the meriva ones are 280mm 4stud?

Can somebody clear this up for me. I, like wooly101uk want a brake upgrade but im a bit confused by this thread

I want calibra turbo calipers, but what are the biggest discs i can get under them? and what car could i get the 4 stud discs and pads off?

Meriva has 4 stud, 260 (ish mm) discs, bigger than std 2 ltr ones. I believe they are a straight fit too.
Rallydesign , lmf and demon tweeks will do different discs if needed.

my 2litre ones are 256mm so it would only be a couple mil bigger i wanted the 288mil but dont know what car there off

fiat coupe are wrong offset on studs
you need spoigot rings, or you get brake judder.
meriva are already correct size stud, dont need spoigots, and use the standard retaining screw

they are 8mm smaller than the correct discs for them, but the pads dont over hang at all, then just go right to the very edge!
and there cheaper to buy than 288's and the dont have to be redrilled, or the 4 stud 288's are expensive

Got some calibra turbo calipers today with brand new pads in but there unipart ones but probably get some gm ones.
Are those mintex discs & pads any good in that link i posted up warren?

Where did you get them from?
Scrap yard mate it had new discs but were 5 stud so no good.

Alright matey... I ran Tarox G88 grove and forodo ds pads on valver brakes on my turbo for 12 months and they did the job. A really good set up mate.
