sadly this isnt how insurance companies work. i appreciate your niavety about the situation but really they will find any way they can not to pay you out. if they decide you are not covered, how do you explain your track map to the parents of the child you just killed etc..........
i pay a high premium for my car as id rather be covered for everything. incase.

What does this switching device consist of??
Dunno, think it may actually contain the maps, I think the ECU can only store the standard map and 1 other

If you're able to switch between them yourself, then an insurer will probably assume that you're going to use the higher one all the time.
I didn't tell them to reduce my premium because I'm not going to bring the turbo in on the road. That is activated by a switch under my foot.

say for example i make 200bhp at about 3000rpm then 500 odd at 7000 rpm. say i dont go over 3000rpm on the road so therefore tell insurance company i only have 200bhp, which would technically be true as i only use 3000-7000rpm on the strip. is this going to be fair? are they going to believe it?

If your with the same insurance company as Antnee, then yes.
Or you could fit some sort of rev limiter device that kicks in @ 3000rpm and can only be activated by a special key.Wire the key to a transponder/tag thing and leave it in the house.
