The clutch, The pressure plate is funked, as are the springs in the clutch plate itself, but the friction material is fine.
Check out the pool of gearbox oil :innocent: The clutch is GM, so eather it was replaced with a GM item, or its lasted 170k

Never saw your post. Cheers
Painted most of the engine bits, just the hoist points and cam cover, once the engine is back in.
Pump goes here:, Awaiting bracket.
Reservoir goes here, bracket is being painted.
Test fitted the rad with the front mounted fan.
Dirty bulkhead, just doing some wirng jobs.
Will be covered with this tho!
Also picked up some bulkhead sound deadening, just need to get the clips from vauxhall (about £7),
Now im just waiting on the quick shift, and for the sound deadening to dry.
Cant wait to have it done at last!

Pipe is set to cost £40.
Looks good:
Quickshift turned up, built it all up using new nylon bushs, new socket bushs and all items painted.
Engine is now ready to go back in, just need to borrow the hoist, or put it in through the bottom and use my big jack, undecided yet.
Comments please!

Yesterday i got the engine back in, got all the bits connected:
Started up nice after this pic, runs a bit iffy though.
Today i got all the other engine bay bits on and moved it under its own steam.
Need to get a bracket for the pump and get a new pipe made as ofc, atm its wrong lol
And then finally just a couple of pics:
Love it and cant wait to have it finished.
Gear linkage is a massive improvement, much tighter, much nicer, really amazed.
Should get bracket soon and the pipe made up monday.
Comments please

Yeah its a shame i put the tiny engine back in, but its a good little engine at the mo, in a year or two, or three knowing what im like, il fit a nice 1600 16v, for the moment though, i like 50mpg.
Got a quick pic today, loves it.

Also, I had a go with a quick shift today. God it made mine feel like a spoon in a bowl of soup lol. Might have to invest in one of those!

If you do, get all new bushs, I got the LMF Nylon Bushs (I can get you a discount too ) and new balljoint bushs (where the two short bits connect to the bigger "quickshift" bit) from vauxhall for like £8
Its so nice and tight.

Got the bracket yesterday, still waiting on a couple of wiring bits.
Got the bracket mounted up, Just need to remount the reservoir somewhere (New pipe needed i think Unless anybody has any ideas?)
Excuse the cable ties, i had to tie up the reservoir to fill it full of fluid and give it a quick test (Unfortunately i used very thin wire so couldn't do a full test) All seems well though.
So anybody got any ideas on the reserviour mounting, i can only think of getting a longer pipe (Dont know how/where from though ) and mounting it on the turret as i had it before, but the pump has moved forward/up with this new bracket.

Right total failure since last time, pump smokes when you run it Getting my brother who is more likly to know to check it out, sounds like new pump time though
But anyway, had some LED sidelight bulbs turn up, There inverted cap so should in thery put out the light better.
Before:
Very orange/yellow, very crap
After:
Much brighter, Bit of a blue/purple tinge, although they are ment to be White.
Next up, Headlight bulbs once i have sorted the PAS.
Also had this sticker laying around for damm ages, so stuck it on as a laugh
Comments please, Need some motivation to carry on, loads of stuff left to do.

Been bumming this again today, Cleaned/dried all the pump, connected it all up etc, works fine now, no smoke!!
Its not finished or tidy yet, just been chucked together to work.
Got a quick pic of the car now im happy with it once again
Need to tidy it all up, wait on some parts and then headlight bulbs, maybe semi-smoothed boot and that will be Finished!
Pas is nice and light but not too light too, i loves it
