You get twat head bikers like you do car drivers im afraid Hence why its good the test is much much harder now.

I've had a biker come up next to me, mis-judged his braking and went straight into the back of a Mondeo estate. Bike flipped, he went over the top

Luckily the bloke was ok, I moved his bike off the road (main road out of london, at rush hour, VERY busy!!). Offered to be a witness, but advised him not to accept as he was totally in the wrong. He knew it, I went on my way. Very lucky lad

Thing is, bikers have accidents. Take my parent

Broken neck, paralysed for 2 weeks (swelling trapped the nerves).
broken ribs
Gangreen arm from an infection (where he obtained the ribs )
Broken pelvis
broken thigh in 20 places
Ripped his main muscle in his should
Got a hernia
punctured 2 discs in his back
etc etc...

Heres his last Xray from 5 years odd ago, which he'll never fully recover from. Bloke jumped a red light and hit him from the side (shattered thigh).

Still, we keep on rollllin, dey hatin......

Leathers don't protect you being stabbed by a wild pikey though eh.

No, but then the pikey won't catch you.....

Its not stab proof clothing, for that you need a stab proof vest.

When your sliding down the road at 150mph though, it will save your skin, and your life in that sense.

Even a crash helmet has its limits (RIP Craig Jones).

My Cousin came off his Ducati 750SS, some doddering elderly twat on the wrong side of the road. He survived but was bust up, was in traction for a year with rehab for a year after. Leathers saved his skin.

just didn't help his bones....

Same with my old man. In fact, i'd say he's lost a good 2 complete years of his life due to being in hospital

Good some epic scars now though

He'll never stop biking though. He's currently back up to 4 bikes again. Greedy....

All I know is, if I knock him off one day, I get all of them.... (plots )

Not sure about that but I'd imagine you'd make most bikes look like a mini moto

Likewise for a daily basis, you cannot beat good old textiles.

LEathers are for the summer

My plan for this year is to get a textile jacket, pair of draggin jeans and wheelie everywhere.. Always had leathers and they make me ride worse purely because I feel safer.

Anyone seen those denim biker jeans from Japan (I think) that are supposed to be really good, well padded and protective....remember seeing them in Performance Bike about 15 years ago...

I dont really like the textiles though. Only got them when i had a scooter and it would have looked very strange riding around on a 50cc ped with a set of leathers on.

Going to get some new kit in the next couple of weeks ready for summer (2 peice leather suit, gloves, lid and boots)

I wear full leathers on my scooter, for aerodynamics. I've gained 3mph as a result of not having clothing flapping around.

Textiles are the way forward. My Goretex two piece textiles are awesome in the winter. Leathers are far too cold and let far too much heat out in this weather! I've got a leather jacket and pants for those hot summer days though

Tiger - Yeah thats the Draggin Jeans. Very very good!!! Theres demo videos of people being dragged along the floor in them.

Mental confidence wise though, i still need leathers.

I.E I feel really uncomfy when on my sports bike in my textiles, it just doesn't feel right.

Yet if I put my leathers on, on my work bike, i'd feel like a right plonker

I got the lot though.

Jacket - 3 inner linings (no longer waterproof), so windproof/waterproof jacket over that.
Trousers - removable lining
Winter and summer boots
Winter and summer gloves
2 bash hats
3 balaclavas
Gay muffs (them big handlebar muffs). Wasn't keen on heated grips.
1 peice leathers
back protector
leather trousers

1 thing I've learned in 10 years, kit means everything. Good kit = Normal temps when arriving to work in the ice. Cheap kit = blue fingers when arriving to work in same conditions

i cant wait to get my new Alpinestar boots on, i already have been walking about the flat with leathers and new boots on

my missus bought them for my xmas, good lass, she`s well trained ha ha ha

also my genuine Honda Repsol leather jacket, with inner liner and protection, this is why i need draggin jeans. this is me at this years Moto gp on the sunday

oh and theres a lady at my mums work told my mum to get me to pop round my mums work one day, because bikers in leathers really turn her on, her knickers must have been ringing after i left
