Chinese stuff gets a lot of bad press but my experiences with it have been quite good, price is always far better even with big delivery costs

The guy that runs R tech is running some VW 20VT engines on chinese turbos at over 400bhp and says they are fine

they maybe fine but for how long? they have much less testing and stringent quality checking on the chinese turbos, you can be lucky and get an OK one or be unlucky and it fall to bits causing mega damage.
not worth risking it in my opinion, would rather buy a second hand unit then a chinese copy.

well no, theres probably a considerably less failure rate of a decent made turbo such as garrett, FP, BW etc compared to a cheap TD06 20g Ebay jobbie.
and if you have spent alot of money on your car why skimp on something which if goes wrong could be catastrophic

i wanted to see if the engine still ran and fine and wasn't damaged so i did just that.
Edit, it was from autopumps uk, which I've no idea where it was manufactured. No need to spam this thread Steve.
