Anyone running a Turbocharged car on 95RON is being cheap.
I use bog standard fuel and the car feels no different whatsoever, plus when fuel was at its highest paying nearly £90 for a tank is a joke.

You must be wrong Joe, it couldn't possibly be that the majority (read carefully, I know some cars need it) of people who buy 99RON need to justify the fact they are being bent over by saying they can feel a difference.

I think the inside of my cap says 95 fuel is ok. What did we use before super unleaded was available? When did super unleaded become available?

i will say my car personally does run poorer on 95 ron, you can tell immediate difference on 99 ron, its smoother, less juddery and less sluggish and thats a fact.

Doesnt a lot of the big bhp cars in the states use low octane fuel and it doesnt seem to be harming there engines???
I gottta say tho my LCR ran shite with vpower and I turned to tesco99 and it immediatly ran 100x better, alot smoother and better mpg.

He's already said some do need it tbf. He's more talking about people with N/A cars saying they noticed a difference.

I understand enough to know that if it's not been mapped for 99ron it doesn't need it.

At what point have alot of people said they feel the difference.
I'm just doing what the manual says to do.

Wasn't aimed at you Graham, if your manual says it there's a good chance your car will take advantage of it.
It's aimed at the people saying all turbo's need it.
Even worse is AON, it makes a noticeable difference to n/a 1.6 and 1.8's on there.

think of the heat in a cylinder on a turbo car john? think of the slightly colder mix higher octane fuel gives. think of the help that offers to cars with stupidly miss matched length manifolds out the factory and such like.

My Fiesta was mapped on 95 RON as that's what was in the tank at the time because I am a pikey c*nt. Still made 262bhp and had no sign of det though.

Running super on 1.6 n/a or 1.8 n/a isn't going to make a difference thats obvious.
Ben G car is a good example, he had a standard car rolling roaded with both Super Unleaded and normal Unleaded and he lost quite a bit of power and torque.
Any high performance turbo car should be run on 98+ fuel I don't think it gullible or stupid to run it on what the manufacturer has recommened as a minimum, you can run it on 95 fuel but it won't be running to it's optimum performance.

Manufacturers recommended on newer high powered turbos and just running it on anything with a turbo are 2 different things though.
