Well Done mate, we went straight to the bank also, we got a mortgage for 72k. House was 80k so we put 10% down. We pay £410 a month capital and interest fixed for 5.

received the enviornmental search and the fittings and contents list through today.
passed the enviro search fine. they aren't leaving the american style fridge/freezer or washing machine so i need to buy those things. they will chuck in the dishwasher for £100 but think i'll just buy a new slimline one or even put in a tumble dryer instead.
no big deal really, just glad to have heard from the solicitors finally

went round today and got measurements to get all our furniture.
also took advantage of the special offers on at comet and got a samsung fridge/freezer and washing machines for £550. bargain.
just need to get a bed, sofa and wardrobes now and we are near enough done.
only annoying thing is that the current owners have asked for a completion date of 31st may which is quite a way away still, but it's good for us a means we'll only have to pay the standard monthly mortgage payment as the interest would make it £1500 if it was half way through the month.

more stuff bought today
we decided not to go for a corner sofa in the end as it would cut off part of the open plan space at the moment between the living room and conservatory which we are going to fill with sliding doors.
went for a 3 seater and 2 seater of this sofa:
wasn't my 1st choice but they are very comfy so i don't mind. will be in a teak colour.
also bought a faux leather bed with some fancy mattress, no pics as it's not on the paul simon website.
and bought a nice glass round dining table with 4 chairs to go in the conservatory.
hopefully it'll all fit

thought i'd update this to say we are getting the keys next friday
so got the whole bank holiday to get it all cleaned up and sorted, and got a week of nights booked off after that so can paint the garage/bedroom etc.
can't wait
nearly 3 months wait but it's worth it in the end, very stressful though.

Weird feeling doing it for the first time? You have the same 'doubt everything' mindset like me? And help you ain't half speeding through the furnishing side of things!

yeah i'm dreading that
we only need to pay £570 solicitors fee's now as we've already paid £800 in deposits so thats good.
thought it was going to be £1500 +.
and yeah we've bought loads of stuff already as the missus' parents spoil her rotten and have quite a bit of money, and my dad has been saving money up that i pay him every month in keep money which is good of him.
just can't wait to get in and start cleaning it all now. 5 more days
