ALL diesels are deceptive, but modern diesels actually rev higher than older ones.
You ever driven a Pug 106 Graduate Diesel? Nothing deceptive about that

Fad is grumpy these days. He used to be mellow and happy. He's got angry as he gets older.

That looks morelike a supercharged 1.8? Could be very wrong on that one though.

2.0 derv turbo from a Vectra/Zaf
Might be a photoshop though as I'm shocked the expansion tank still fits and its got what looks like a central engine mount which wouldnt work with the regular corsa gearbox mount and you cant use a mechanical clutch with the central gearbox mounts anymore pics?

As I say, could be very wrong, and I am I've no shame in admitting when im wrong (I feel i have to point this out any time now for the internet warriors )
In all honestly, I don't know what the 2.0 look like. Is this a newer engine range over the 1.9 lump?
Its the turbo cover at the back and not the front (usually tubby VX is at the front) that threw me off. Looked like a supercharger above the inlet.
tbh, if its MTEC, i'm in full belief its a working, and probably fast as fook engine!!!! MTEC are the original engine conversion daddies. All mounting kits are mould from his stuff

I think anyone going from a petrol engine straight to a diesel will think they are slow but after you drive/ own one for a while and know how to use the powerband properly you will be suprised at how quick they are.
Its very hard to get a quick launch from 1st but once your past that they pull very hard compared to their petrol counter parts.
I had a midly tuned 1.5td corsa that was rapid, barely any lag what so ever almost sure that could have held off a 1.6 sport until 90-100

i like the idea as its different . as a perfomance car goes tho id sooner have a petrol . people who buy diesels becasue they think they are fast make me laugh.

I used to think so too, but unfortunatly the dervs in racing are also starting to proove the petrols wrong Don't get me wrong, I far prefer petrol engines, but I love the instant lazy umph from a derv on the road.
There was a former member on here, Gavin Gibbs, who turned his NA Derv 1.5 corsa into a TD It really wasn't that fast, but it was far superior to the engine without the turbo, and he done it all at home to when no-one had tried it "back in the day"
On the road I think a 1.9 dti would be quite quick. Not C20LET fast, but certainly quicker than an XE but with vastly improved fuel economy?
Wonder how that MTEC jobbie goes with the older engine?

I don't think its 'that' fast. Its quick but pretty lazy, never feels particularly quick.
