Mechanical movements are nowhere near as accurate as a £5 watch from Argos, COSC is to within a second a day or something along those lines iirc.

A COSC certificate and being able to impress people is about all your rolex money gets you, certainly doesn't get a nice looking watch.

Does seem to be the case with most of the ones I've seen.

I get some people might like special movements and that, but 95% of people will buy the watch because its expensive not because they're fans of telling the time better than anyone else.
Especially since a lot of people when asked the time will round it to the nearest 5 minutes

Rolex are expensive for the sake of being expensive, even Rolex admit it, they are selling a lifestyle.
I like the movements in watches, most are in a lottery winners budget though.

I've got a couple of Oris's atm.
I've got my eye on a Panerai PAM 00241 next but I've unfortunately got other things to buy before I can afford that

Nice nice.
The PAM's are so tempting. But do carry a nice price tag with them sadly otherwise one would be mine!

I think the one I want is about 4k, that'll be spent on a house well before I get anywhere near a watch.

Yours will be battery powered as well Rusty?
I wanted Automatic, as the Seiko Kinetic I had (now wear to work) was auto. However the Tag only keeps its time for a couple days if I stop using it, the Seiko keeps its time for up to 4 weeks without moving & it cost pennies compared to the Tag!!

I also have a Sieko Kinetic Auto Relay.
Forup to 4 years after you take it off, if you pick it back up and give it a shake it goes back to the right time

Didnt know they could sit that long!! It fucks my head that a £150 seiko can keep its time for as long as I leave it in the drawer, but a £2000 Tag needs to be set after 2-3 days!!!

What's the score with that one?
Looks like a panerai rip off?
God knows. Was like £120. Surely you have heard of Dpmhi/Maharishi? http://www.maharishistore.com/
