I think Heskey hoofing it towards the keeper was just as criminal as Green's mistake. If you want to be world class you need to finish those sorts of shots.

Dont you just hate when non football fans start commenting on games, all of sudden that was the "shittest" performance ever yadda yadda.
I thought we played quite well, its a shame Green made a mistake, but goalies will always make mistakes so not something we should dwell on too much.
Why do we never look at the positives, the USA are a pretty good side, and we were all over them! A good first game IMO

England 'fans' piss me off TBH. Doom and gloom as they didn't win the first game against the toughest in the group. A win and a draw and they are through, what's the fucking problem?
Really feel for Green. I bet he is inconsable now. I prefer James but as a manager he has to play him next game, then stick James in. Drop him now and you couldn't rely on him as a number 2. Shows how average England are between the sticks, should have brought Theakston!

The scoreline reflected the game perfectly. Both teams scored one goal It doesn't matter how much passes they can string together, if they can't finish simple chances (Heskey) then they aren't going to win games. Green was unfortunate, but that's football. The pass that was played into Heskey for Gerrard's goal was clearly meant for Rooney but he couldn't reach it and it went to Heskey for the goal... Does that mean the scoreline should of been 0-0 if those two incidents never happened? You take the good with the bad. England do have a history of playing pretty shecht against the weaker teams (albeit the second best in the group) but they seem to shape up against the better ones so we'll see what happens!

they had about 3 shots on goal we had countless, granted we should have stuck a few away, but some games just go that way, we also had a lot more posession.
So, a lot more attempts at goal, higher possession and you think 1-1 reflects that well? hmmm

You're not understanding my point here... England hammered them most of the game but the scoreline reflects the result as they both only put the ball in the net once each. Doesn't matter if you hit 50 shots and the other team hits 1, if they score it and you don't, they deserve the win!

I think it was a fair result in a way? England didn't command the match, few clear-cut chances. OK, a blunder cost them but purely in terms of maybe needing him you have to keep Green for the next game. Then drop him for James.

SWP was absolutley shocking, he always has been apart from the first few seasons in his first spell at shitty. Adam Johnson should have gone in his place, and he should be murdered for ending Dean Ashtons career aswell.
