smcGSI16v - You'll have a lot less power though yeah?

Warren - About £240 for a round. You'll need 888's (you get them discounted and come TA branded). Safety, not much if you dont want to... min is hand held AAA foam extinguisher, and harnesses/seat really. Then usual stuff like battery terminals insulated etc.

Regs are here -

driver - http://www.timeattack.co.uk/index.php/2009-events/rules-and-regulations/club-driver-regs-2009/
car - http://www.timeattack.co.uk/index.php/2009-events/rules-and-regulations/club-car-regs-2009/

Basically its not that expensive if you dont want it to be.... If you want to be competative over a year long championship it gets expensive. OHW is a good way of giving it a try for not much more than a full day trackday at the circuit. You dont get as much time on track (15mins, 20min, 20mins, 15mins) but you do get timed and it is A LOT different to a trackday. You push so much harder!

It is a good laugh though, great bunch of people.

sand-eel - yup... not quite on

People do funny things in club level motorsport. I've heard stories of people building five cars so that they can race their own design in the 750MC RGB class

This is why most youngsters who are in it have rich parents.

Motor racing really isn't cheap at all Sponsership is vital, but its really hard to get unless its a TV covered event.
