Ye the same one. Its got 642 miles on the clock. I went to look at it before The rear axle is completely off the car. The spare wheel well is long gone as its only fibreglass. All the airbags went off including the seats, the roof is caved in, the exhaust is smashed, theres no rear bumper, no windscreen, the bonnet is smashed to pieces, theres gaping holes down both sides where a fence went through it and its just a general mess. The only thing salvageable is the engine, 1 wheel and the rear seats.

The car that hit him was doing over the speed limit and was driving along the white line. That was admitted by the driver at the scene. My mate wasnt totally blameless but most of the damage was done by the axle coming off. Theres some serious safety issues with the back axle mountings though. Its only bolted through 5mm steel plate. The car that hit him is missing a front wheel, the wing is crumpled and the door is dented. It just doesnt seem like it happened in the same accident.

I had the luckiest escape ever in my saxo vtr when I fell asleep in the middle lane of road works one night doing 60mph on the M4...

the outside lane had oncomming traffic in it as it was being used as a contraflow

luckily I drifted across the slow lane over the hard shoulder and onto the grass verge where I woke up and after frantcaly trying to control the car came to rest half on the hard shoulder and half on the grass

fucking STUPID mistake and one of the only things in life Im ashamed of, how the fuck I didnt hit anything is a mystery, I must have done something in a past life to have deserved to come away with out touching anything

I'd be scared to death if i did that, dont think i'd want to drive even a tiny bit tired again. I'd hate to have a serious smash like most of these, i only drove into my own gate.

There is nothing worse than driving home tired. I'd say thats the worst bit about working nights is driving home tired, quite often I have to pull over to snooze, but quite often I feel worse after a snooze or just wanna get home. Problem is so many times I've woken up infront of an island or something and had to swerve, you can feel fine then it just hits you

Pics to go with the crash i was on about.

Friday, delivery miles

Today, 642miles

If you look behind the car you can see the axle with wheels, brakes, bushes and everything still intact. The axle isnt even bent.

The boots still intact and relatively undamaged as the axle ripped off the exhaust, bumper and spare wheel well then it hit the curb on the sill and rolled over and over a few times but all the weight was on the front end so the boot never really hit the ground. Its totally shocking how easily the axle came away from the chassis. Its just thin plate holding it on.

The car looks worse but they walked away, Scott wins with the surrounding story with the seatbelt failure and the fact it still affects him now

cant really see much in the pic, but the two front wheels were on the floor, the right rear was on top of a fence pannel (still upright), and the left rear was on top of a lamp post, the rear bumper just touching a telegraph pole.

it started up on it

Yeh, seatbelt failed. Seat broke so I ended up in the back, the boot landed onto my head which put me into a coma.

I got some brown paint on my headlight once when I scuffed a fence at home. I also dented a wheel on my Corsa once. I have no pics of either of my epic crashes unfortunately.
