Presuming you've driven both then???
I don't see the probs with a nearly new or new FRS against a fairly old M3.
Different types of car, but both performance cars at the end of the day. And tbh Colin need to get his hot hatch fetish dealt with before any kids come along.

I really like the black wheels, not so sure Colin does though. I'm mega excited, couldn't get insured on the M3, but can on the RS. I hope we find one soon, I can't wait !!!
And Ben ..... one BIG KID in the house is more than enough for me to cope with atm !!!

M3
I had to sell mine cos I needed to be sensible, you sir are clearly insane
I like Focus Rs' but I would never swop a car with the correct wheels driven for a more expensive depreciating one with tue incorrect wheels driven

Green is fucking awful. You want your head looking at if you buy one in that colour.
White is the colour for the FRS. And Black wheels go nicely on it when you see one in the metal, they just dont show up well in photos.

M3 > FRS
RWD > FWD
BWM > Ford
I suppose it'll be slightly cheaper to run and will turn more heads in green.

hurry up and get this green focus
like you say, you can buy it, experience and then say you've had one. otherwise you will always have the FRS itch to scratch imo

+3.
Not sure how true this is but someone i know who works at Ford tells me that Ford outsource the spraying of the bumpers and skirts and spray the shells in house and that they fucked up the paint mixture for the green on the shells and so all the green ones have different shade bumpers/skirts to the body which is more 'yellow'. He was saying no end of people turn them down/bring them back when they notice.
I did mention that a different type of paint is used on the plastics but he insisted this is still the case.

They have come down in price alot
That looks a really good one Colin, hopefully that'll still be around when you're looking but I can see that getting snapped up quickly.
All the people saying the M3 is the superior car, is it really? It's 5+ years old, no warranty, it's not any faster. I really don't see the FRS as a downgrade, it's just a very different type of car. If everyone worried about depreciation of cars we might aswell buy £300 shitters.

Most are probably just looking at the badges.

I thought so. Badge snobbery annoys me tbh. Ford make good cars now, they're out of the unreliable stigma that they used to have with the Cossie era. BMW's have their fair share of problems too.

A mate of a mate has just sold his white M3 which was a CSL rep and bought a white Focus RS. Previous cars are 2 E92 M3's, Nissan GTR, Original E46 CSL and a Carrera 2 off the top of my head. All of which were modified. It really doesn't matter what your previous car is, just move onto the next one!
Going from an M3 to a FRS isn't really much of a big deal in my opinion.
